Sorry but it doesn't work that way. People have constitutional rights and police can not just run around arresting people. Added to this there are legitimate ways to deal with this problem not treats of tyranny.

If Trump wants to do something about the crime, then he can work with congress to authorize more federal dollars for a police force that can handle the kinds of issues that are in Chicago. He can set up a FBI task force to assist and work with the police but he can not threaten the use of tyranny.

The National Guard is the army of the state and the state governor is its commander in chief. The President can federalize the National Guard when there is an insurrection like a riot.

I never said the solution was to run around arresting people willy nilly. I don't think Trump did either. Obviously the place is a mess and nothing is being done about it. They need to work on solutions. Right now it appears the only solution is to mark off territories as war zones and tell people to avoid them.

Band aids aren't going to solve the problem in Chicago. If it ever gets fixed it'll take years (or generations) of getting at the root of the issue, not by arrests. Not that they shouldn't be arresting people, but it's not going to fix anything in the long term.
