What is more important here is that we just staged a military raid into a military conflict that we weren't involved in before. |

I can't believe that Bush, Obama, and now Trump have been able to do this. I know that if another country decided to send a team of special opps military into the United States and kill a bunch of people...it would be considered an act of war. Having said that...I merely wanted to point out that "no" this isn't about Trump's ego or whatever the original post from TCL Girls is trying to say. This was a carefully planned military strike against Al Queda. Yemen has been a hotbed and the Saudi's have been leading a coalition with air strikes there for the last few years (in case you were uninformed of what is going on in Yemen). Is this the way that the U.S. is going to be forced to fight terrorism? With strikes against terrorist cells in other country's? That's the way it's been happening under the Obama Admin. Looks like the Trump Admin is going to continue it. It's a conundrum. On one hand we are sending our military into sovereign nations. Many times without even telling them in advance (because we can't trust that they won't give the info to the terrorist groups). On the other hand...the "enemy" is not a nation with a real army and leadership. They are scattered groups in country's like Yemen. I don't have the answers to what is "right" and "wrong" on this. Horrible that children were killed. But on the other hand....what in the hell were little children doing in a compound full of heavily armed terrorists to begin with? As White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said yesterday: It's hard to call any mission a "success" when there is loss of life of one of our people. On the other hand...the military claims it got a ton of important intelligence that could save lives. And on the third hand...I simply don't have a lot of trust in the Federal Govt. due to it's history of deception and shady shit. But at least I try to make statements based on what I see "reported" by the shitty press we have here in the U.S. |
Obama administration planned this raid?
But Republicans said Obama wasn't doing anything about terrorism. |

The same guy that had an emergency press conference to claim Trump inauguration crowd was the biggest in history, then took it back the next day. The same administration that admitted On TV LIVE that they use "alternative facts" (lies) to make their case. |

You perceive it that way because you have an anti-Trump agenda. It was the same with Pres. Obama. I agreed with 90% of the things he did. But when I said I disagreed with him on the healthcare law, economics, and the Middle East...I was suddenly pro-Republican. It's like people have lost the ability to accept that it's okay to take each issue one by one and have an opinion on it. Obama wasn't infallible. I know that Democrats argue like he was. And Trump isn't infallible. Even though many of his supporters argue like he is. I've said over and over and over that the "Wall" should never be built. I've also (correctly) pointed out that it was first passed by Congress to build it in 2006 and that Hillary Clinton voted FOR it. And I've also pointed out that the only reason it wasn't built already is because the Federal Govt. is so inept. And I also pointed out that Trump is the kind of go-getter guy that WILL build that wall. In that last paragraph I am showing critical thinking of an issue. Not the way I wish it was...but the truth of what it is. I think that is something that maybe you are finding yourself NOT doing in your thinking. That's why earlier I said to not let yourself get caught up in the mob mentality. It's easy to do. And every time I catch myself doing it, I try to pull back and look at things more clearly. I guess it's just human nature to get caught up like that. |
"People are saying" it was a complete disaster. First it was a yuuuge success. Then it was not a 100% success. Now...

I agree with Trump on military action against China and/or Iran. I believe in a hardline trade with China like Trump. I believe at examining the refugee deal with Australia, like Trump. The list goes on. I don't like the way he's causing unneeded drama with our allies. The list goes on. |
Fair enough. :)

First, Obama didn't do anything against terrorism.
Now, the raid was all Obama's idea. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh |
Obama is no longer the commander-in-chief there is a new guy Donald Trump.
What will his Google bomb be? Diaper Don ... Trump Terrific! https://s23.postimg.org/soo25usjf/trump_terrific.jpg |
This soldier died because Obama and his allies from Saudi Arabia where supporting Al Qaida in Yemen for years.

He loved what he did for al living is what is being reported. And he kept re-enlisting. It's a dangerous thing. He knew the risks and I can only assume that he knew the world politics involved as well. And with all of that...he CHOSE his profession. Nothing wrong with that at all. But no...it's not Pres. Obama's "fault" or Pres. Trump's "fault" or anybody's "fault". The guy had a job to do. He did his job. And in his particular line of work...when one little thing goes wrong it can be deadly. Trust me, he knew that far better than you or I. Using his death to make political attacks such as TCL Girls did in this title thread is disgusting to me. As human beings, we should just stop that. It's below every one of us. |

The mission could not go forward without Trump examining the parameters and signing off. Very simple. The buck stops with TRUMP. Trump signed off on a shit mission. Trump is responsible for his actions and their consequences as Head of State. Deal with it Robbie you sexy beast! |

Obama bombed the shit out of Libya and made the country far worse for everyone. where's the condemnation of this? These Special Ops missions are fraught with danger and the men that carry them out risk their lives on a regular basis. That's why they're left to the very elite soldiers. |

Why are you trying to make the thread about me? I'm not a politician. I'm simply having a political debate. In 2008 I voted for Obama for President. In 2012 I tossed my Democrat card away and registered as a Libertarian. So what? Did I do something "wrong"? Am I an asshole for changing my mind about the direction that Pres. Obama went? Yeah, I agreed with him on many things. BUT, the few things I don't are really big: the economy, ObamaCare, and the middle east. Why do you care what I think? I can't change anything except with my one vote. Focus on the discussion at hand. Don't get personal. |
[QUOTE=Bladewire;21511843]Trump is in charge. Trump signed off on a shit mission. Trump is responsible for his actions and their consequences. DEAL WITH IT!
Here is the reality check for you: - Obama invaded Yemen - Obama was sending weapons to Al Quaida - bullets shot at these navy seals where probably bought by the american tax payer. Quote:

I can't think of any circumstance where the Israelis would use one of their neutron missiles ( that they *might* have ) in alliance with any Arab state.
