California pays more in taxes than it takes in. Two hundred thousand Americans have just been evacuated from their houses for forty-eight hours, with no idea when they can return. This might take weeks.
The White House has yet to comment on this. This has got to be a joke, right? |

but what i wonder is, that dump-supporters do not doubt on it and take it serious. even more they do not show any compassion for a a complete US region what might have even dump-supporters in trouble. that is the most horrific part on that thread. |

Mark's threads are better than re-runs of 70's shows. You know the story and plot but still tune in to watch the fumble.

The funny thing is the dam is located in a solidly Republican area that voted for Trump.

50 states. Make that 49.

Like so many things repairs on infrastructure were put off on the basis "We don't need to fix it today." Which leads to so many deaths you would think they have learned to fix it before the crisis. |

There's no disaster yet all that happened is people have been told to evacuate an area that's in danger of being flooded if the dam breaks. The reason for this event is the State has not kept up on repairs and maintenance of the dam for too long. |

I suggest those earning a better living pay more taxes to support the growing number of poor. That's what gets me about the PC liberals who want to help everyone. They rarely want to pay more to support their tactics. |

Your reply about state budget proves you have no idea what Rochard was referring to. For every $1 California tax payers pay in **FEDERAL TAXES**, they get back around 0.70 to 0.80 cents worth of services. |

that would make sense when all idiots are at the end on one site and the smart ones on the other. when somebody looks after 50 years into the stupid side they will find a few million walled skeletons |

Clearly, California has more spending than the people are prepared to pay for. This dam should have been maintained and repaired in the past. Paid for by the taxpayers. A business would update, repair, etc. Passing the costs on to the customers. Somehow when it comes to taxes people think it works the another way. Now the birds have come home to roost on that policy. |
