Trump has not been convicted of any 'crime.' Being really fat and ugly is not a crime. Distorting the truth is not a crime either -- we don't have the jail space :laughing-

Contempt of Court and Perjury are crimes however ...

One goal is to get Trump under oath and that will take time, likely years, as it President Clinton, unless another big undeniable scandal pops up.

Donald Trump Jr. likely paid at least $50,000 for event held by hosts linked to Russia - MarketWatch

Quote:

WASHINGTON -- President Donald Trump?s eldest son was likely paid at least $50,000 for an appearance late last year before a French think tank whose founder and wife are allies of the Russian government in efforts to end the war in Syria.

Donald Trump Jr. addressed a dinner on Oct. 11 at the Ritz Hotel in Paris, hosted by the Center of Political and Foreign Affairs. Its president, Fabien Baussart, and his Syrian-born wife, Randa Kassis, have cooperated with Russia in its drive to end the Syrian civil war, according to U.S., European and Arab officials. In December, Baussart formally nominated Russian President Vladimir Putin for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Looks like the ACLU is getting in on the fun...

https://www.aclu.org/news/aclu-calls...rjury-sessions

“Jeff Sessions took an oath before the Senate Judiciary Committee to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, and it is now clear that he broke that oath in his confirmation hearing. If senators of both parties allow an attorney general nominee to plainly lie under oath with no repercussions, they will render our government’s cabinet confirmation process no more than kabuki theater. This matter must not and cannot be seen as a partisan issue, as it goes to the heart of the credibility of our democracy. The American people deserve a full investigation into whether Sessions perjured himself and if he is indeed fit to serve as our nation’s highest law enforcement official. No one is above the law — certainly not those sworn to uphold it.”

Republicans are just digging their own grave trying to ignore this shit by playing party politics.

Redhats here are mostly foreigners, and love Russia because Trump loves Russia, they will see no problem with colluding with Russia, Russian espionage etc.

As he should have. And as Flynn should have.
As ALL incoming transition teams do. Even the NY Times (which has openly stated that they are anti-Trump and have no journalistic credibility with their bias) says in the link you provided:
"It is common and not improper for transition officials to meet with foreign officials."

Of course it is. Obama did it. Bush did it and all the way back to when Adams followed Washington as our second President.

Everyone at that level is smart enough to start getting their ducks in a row.

The truly unprecedented political move was Pres. Obama putting sanctions on Russia during his final days as President.
A politically clever way to lay landmines for Trump's first month in office.

He started a major confrontation with the 2nd most powerful country on Earth and gave all the Democrat politicians a beautiful way to delay and hurt Trump's administration.

Clever and smart politically by Pres. Obama. TERRIBLE for the country.

I know that every anti-Trump person is just loving this. That's cool.

But when you really think about it...you know very well that Pres. Obama did it intentionally and knew how it would play out.
He would NEVER have put sanctions on Russia in the final days of his lame duck period if Hillary had won the election.

Instead he would have worked closely with her and her team to make sure that the U.S. relationship with Russia was as good as he could get it.

But I suppose that everyone who hates Trump with blind passion finds this to be at least one thing that can make them smile.

As we saw at the speech in front of Congress...the Democrat politicians sat on their hands and did NOT applaud when Trump said he wanted to work together to help American families get better jobs and rise up.

Put them in a horrible light. Who the hell DOESN'T want that? And yet...they did not applaud and instead made grimacing faces. Nancy Pelosi just looked bad doing that.

But at least President Obama gave them this parting gift.
So instead of working with Trump on the important issues that were promised to the American people: jobs, trade, immigration, security....the Democrats can keep everything in chaos over John Podesta's emails that revealed the truth about Hillary Clinton.

And his email password was "password". lol
Great security there!

Bingo. And that's the reason Trump fired Flynn. For lying to Pence.

As for Sessions...He was asked specifically if anyone in the Trump campaign had met with any Russian officials.
He said that he had no knowledge of any of that happening.

Sessions was a U.S. Senator. Not a member of the staff of the Trump campaign.
He was just a Senator who endorsed Trump.

So if Hillary had won...would we have investigated Elizabeth Warren for anyone she talked to? Or Chuck Schumer? Or any other govt. official based on which candidate they endorsed?

Meanwhile truly important things are being slowed down as the Trump administration has to deal with political b.s.

And if you hate Trump and want him to fail that is a good thing. Stop him from doing things you disagree with.

If you're like me, and want to see new trade deals, tax reform, and new job growth...then it's a bad thing that's going on.

Hillary lost. John Podesta's emails that were put out by Wiki Leaks 8 MONTHS before the election didn't cause that.
She was a terrible candidate put forward by a political party that is on life support this year.

Hopefully, the Democrat Party will stop shooting themselves in the foot...perform an "autopsy" that identifies the REAL reasons that they have lost all power in the local, state, and Federal govt.'s
But the longer they act like spoiled brats and make themselves look like sore losers...the longer it will be before they are able to get new blood into their party and push forward a more "working man's" agenda.

I was hoping that they would do that immediately after the election. But..it looks to me like this could lead to them losing even more ground in the 2018 elections. :(

MaDalton 03-02-2017 06:58 PM

well - Sessions said that "he has been called a surrogate" during the Trump campaign - which kind of makes him part of the campaign, no?

but I completely agree about the Democratic party - besides Bernie.

but otherwise i do read a lot of butthurt and no real solutions from them

Calling someone a "surrogate" doesn't make them a member of the Trump Campaign staff.
Especially a high-powered U.S. Senator who was sitting on the Armed Services Committee in the Senate.

I could call you a "surrogate" for the Democrat Party of the U.S. because you are always taking that side in debate.
But it doesn't mean that you are a part of the Democrat Party.

Here is the actual question from Sen. Al Franken and the answer from Sessions:

SEN. AL FRANKEN: "If there was any evidence that anyone affiliated with the Trump campaign communicated with the Russian government in the course of this (2016) campaign, what would you do?," the Minnesota Democrat asked.

SESSIONS: "I'm not aware of any of those activities. I have been called a surrogate at a time or two in that campaign and I did not have communications with the Russians."

Now you can take that as Sessions "lying" or you can take it as Sessions telling Franken that he was not a part of the Trump campaign and did not have meetings with Russian officials during the campaign and on behalf of the campaign.

According to The Washington Post Sessions spoke with the Ambassador from Russia in July and Sept. of 2016.

The Wiki Leaks dump happened in March of 2106

And when Sessions spoke to the ambassador...every media outlet in the U.S. was saying that every poll showed Trump LOSING in a landslide (remember those fake polls and fake news?)

Was Sessions really meeting with the Ambassador to talk about how to "meddle" in the election when the email dump had already happened months before?
Or was he meeting to discuss the sanctions...that had not even been talked about by Obama yet because he thought Hillary was going to win? (the sanctions happened in Obama's final days of Jan. 2017 as a "fuck you" to Trump)

Or was Sessions just doing his job as a senior high-ranking member of the Senate?

If you hate Trump...then you believe that Sessions was definitely working as a Russian spy.
If you like Trump, then the whole thing is just stupid.

Obviously I voted for Trump. I want to see his economic agenda realized. This shit is slowing it down.
Democrats are against him 100%, even if the things he wants are good...they will still be against it because if they can make him fail they will regain power.

Same stupid shit the Republicans did to Pres. Obama.

The Establishment in Washington D.C. does NOT want Trump to succeed. They want him to fail spectacularly so that no other non-politician will ever dare to run for President again.

Holeeee sheeeit your head is so far down in that Trump sand. How much Russia smoke do you need to have an idea that maybe the TRump campaign and Russia were/are cozy in a way that is very shady at the very least? I disagree. Did the Russians go to the Democratic convention and have secret meetings with Clinton?

Why is it that there are twenty-seven members of the Armed Forces Committee, yet only one of them meet with the Russian government, behind closed doors, and why wasn't the State Department involved?

If there is nothing wrong with the Trump campaign meeting with Russian agents, why did Flynn resign? Why did Sessions lie about it under oath? Why are they hiding all of this?

If this is perfectly normal, why didn't the Trump administration come out and say "Well of course we met with the Russians. Every campaign does".
