Absolutely and I say that as a Great Grandfather.

Are you sure you understand the question here?

Trump is giving carte-blanche to industries that will pollute, because it will create jobs.

That means that Joe-Blow somewhere will have a job, that adds poison to the air and water.

And that means that you are just fine breathing-in that poising, and drinking that poison.

And since you are a Grandfather (Congrats!), you are totally ok with your grandkids breathing and drinking poison too. Just because Joe-Blow won't find himself a better job.

Really? Really?

Please tell me why its better this way.

Nuclear power provides electricity to millions of homes. It heats homes in winter and cools them in summer. Coal kills 10,000 people per year in the US, and 170,000 in China. The global average for death by nuclear, including Fukushima, is only 90. In the US, death by Nuclear is 0.1 per year. (All of the above is deaths per Trillion Watts/Hr. Source.)

Both of which stop food from being lost or destroyed by pests. Yes I know Pesticides are terrible and I wish they didn't have to exist, and I sure hope I never get a iouthfull of the stuff.

One good way to avoid pesticides and GMO is to buy locally. Your grocery store may import alot of its food from far-away places. Don't buy it. Buying local makes a difference.

All of this polluting shit was NOT invented or built by the stupid simpletons like me. Everything from the nuclear bomb to genetically modified food was built by the so-called "smart people." In fact it's these smart people who are the smart asses that also cause all the problems in the world including war, genocides, etc.

I have had to live and survive in this world and the same goes for my children, my grandchildren and my great grandchildren. Even the porn industry has been destroyed by smart asses and my money isn't going to last forever. So what I want for them is to survive just like I did.

I actually get a kick out of you so I kind of like you and therefore please don't take this as me trying to engage you in a pissing match. But you're a troll and I'm going to go out on a limb here but I get the feeling that in real life you're pretty socially awkward. So you talk about how beautiful this world is but how much time do you really spend in it?

I've been in jail, almost died from an overdose, knocked up a couple of women and had the shit kicked out of me. But I've also hitched hiked the entire hippy trail, got stoned at the Monterey pop festival, participated in the 68 Paris riots and fucked both Claudine Beccaire and Seka. Therefore let me say I know first hand just how beautiful the world is and I really would love to do everything I did one more time.

You never knew that you needed a tablet so thin that you could slice bread until some smart ass at Apple computers convinced you that you did.

No one ever asked you what you wanted and they never gave you a chance to learn about your options. Instead they just found ways to make gullible and the fearful people believe that their lives were going to somehow be better if they purchased their shit. Unfortunately in doing so they also made the world into a sort of dictatorship where anyone that just wants to survive needs to purchase their stupid crap because everyone else is using it.

Trust me if I could... I would love to walk away from all this fucked up bullshit and go live in harmony with nature. But unfortunately some cocksucker on a powertrip would locate me with a drone and armed cops would come to chase me off.

You've clearly made some life altering fucked up decisions but overall you're that typical stereotype of a lost, dying and mostly dead (THANK GOD!) generation.

Old fucks like you love Trump because he has the same mentality as you, Fuck future generations I'll take what I can at any price people like you have destroyed our future Fuck off we don't care what you think.

Your generation has fucked up this planet! You take take take from our treasury to stay alive while letting the insurance companies enslave my generation, just so you can all live a few more miserable years.

My parents generation looked up to the one before them for maintaing a functioning society with stability for the future.

Your generation has fucked all of us! The least we can do is stop your disability payments, military payments, social security & medicare and any other benefits. You haven't earned these benefits by stealing from my generation to fortify a system you've robbed out of greed. I have paid into SS all my life, so has my son, and it will be gone if I live long enough to retire ITS BANKRUPT because of YOUR GENERATION. My son & I are working to support you who left us with no stability for the future Fuck off. We are all paying to provide you with something we'll never have and you don't deserve it!

Then you come on a message board created by my generation bitching about new technology & IPads and crap trying to stamp out the few bright possitive dynamic people here and acting like you're doing him a favor by calling him a troll then spewing your shit Fuck off.

Then again you could be some fuck in the Philippines paid to post pretending to be the character you are.

So much idiocy in one thread.

Smog is not caused by CO2.

Pollution is not caused by CO2 / CO2 is not pollution.

Warming is not caused by (man-made) CO2.

CO2 is not harmful.

Trillions are being spent on reducing CO2 but barely anything is being done to stop real pollutants, environmental destruction, deforestation and over-fishing.

Climate change will happen with or without our input. Best to spend that money adapting to it and reducing actual human damage to the environment.

:2 cents:

Electric cars and bicycles aren't going to make any kind of difference. They still require manufacturing processes to make them and there's more than enough toxic substances in these them too.

This is just one of many "OH MY GAWD THE END IS NEAR" shouts that I've heard in my lifetime. Well I was Chicken Little back in the 50s and 60s but I've since then learned. The sky isn't falling and the establishment is full of shit. Personally I would wipe my ass on a computer because I've watched it destroy our freedoms... the small business man... and the intelligence of the average person.

What we need are good paying jobs, apprenticeship programs and strict discipline back in our schools. We used to be a much happier society despite the social problems we had.

In real life I'm shy and tend to be soft spoken perhaps, but I would never back away from speaking my mind.

You don't know me so I can forgive your impression of me. My first impression of you seems to be someone who just wants to "stay quiet", "give up", "keep your head low" etc, instead of argue or fight for what's right. Of course I am sure there's much more to you than my extreme over-generalization of you, just as there is more to me than yours. Fair?

There are geese and ducks flying around here who make the coolest sounds. I'm 60 minutes away from beautiful mountains with green trees and blue lakes. I work hard all winter so I can spend as much time outside in the summer as I can. If you've never experienced Montreal in the Summer, you have no idea what you're missing. (Babes. You don't really need to do that. You have some money, a home, food, electricity, heat, friends, family. You are better off than 1.6 Billion other people in the world (Source). What I would suggest is that you take a few weekends off and go camping if you can. Seriously.

In fact, you should go by yourself. Catch a few fish, be quiet, and just think. If you can camp in the mountains, bring a small telescope and check out the night sky. Set an alarm to wake up at 3am, and then go sit by the lake. You will hear the forest begin to wake up about an hour before sunrise. Yes of course you're right. What I meant to say is that buying locally is a good idea for lots of reasons such as reduced transport time, and therefore less fuel consumption, fresher, cheaper food, boosting local economy, reducing the reliance of importing food from other places like Mexico, etc. I must have been tired when I wrote that sentence.

Let me tell you where I'm coming from and why I believe that this entire "We're running out of clean air and water" is just a fiasco.

My father was a world war 1 vet. He never let any of us his forget that he was an orphan in France and that he was only 14 years old when he fought in the battle of Verdun. The man was strict and he handled every problem the same way, with brutality. After the war he immigrated to Canada and hooked up with my mother who really wasn't much better. I'm the youngest of 5 brothers and our parents taught us about life with a backhand or a belt across our bare asses.

They were tough people because they had to be and they taught us how to work hard, clean up after ourselves and make do with what we had. It's an attitude that I really don't see a lot of these days. In fact most people are just self-centered assholes that throw their crap everywhere without ever respecting what they have or ever worrying about other people.

Now in my home my dishes are at least 40 years old. I can afford new dishes but why should I waste my money buying new ones when these are still perfectly good? Why should I contribute to mass consumerism gone awry? The same can be said for my old TV, my old couch, etc. To be blunt, I don't want what I don't really need.

I also don't have a problem with hard work. So my renewable green technology is my 2 hands and I use them to do things like hang up my clothing on a clothesline outside instead of an energy consuming dryer. I also fix things that are broken instead of throwing them out and I learn to use what I have in new ways.

I've also lived through the communist threat, possible nuclear war, Y2K, war on terror, man made climate change, etc. If there's one thing I've learned is that when a threat is actually real, the government/establishment doesn't stand around bitching about. Instead they move like lightening and start issuing orders for what needs to be done. ie. They don't ask and they don't beg - They tell everyone what needs to be done and that's the end of conversation.

Even governments that hate each other quickly put aside their differences when there's a real threat of some kind. You don't need to look at world war 2 to see examples of what I'm talking about, you can look at what's going on today. When it's in their best interests the worst of enemies become best friends real fast.

So believe me if man made climate change was real the world wouldn't be negotiating or trying to implement carbon taxes. Instead they would put an end to whatever was causing the problem without further apologies or discussion.

Nope and in fact I still don't have a use for the crap because my brain works faster than my fingers can type.

Why I own some of this crap is because what happened is the business environment changed and I'm not talking about Tube sites, DVDs, VHS tapes, super 8 films or 35mm cinema productions. I've watched what used to be savvy businessmen turn into complete morons just because they "got computers" or "got several sites up." They neglected their consumer base, destroyed their product lines and forgot everything they knew about running a business.

Unfortunately because I had to continue dealing with these idiots I had to "upgrade" my business. Not that it was upgrading in order to remain competitive but in order to get these dummies to respond to my communications. eg. First I could get them on the phone but that changed to send them an email and wait several hours for a response. Later it changed to contact them by Facebook and now it's send me a text message but please don't phone me or if you need a fast response try me on twitter.

For every dime today's porn industry makes we used to make $50 bucks. The money has shrunk while the jizz biz has become saturated with product, wanna-be-players and scam artists. What little money is left is controlled by a very very small number of people.

Apple is just another multinational corporation hustling their crap on the public. Apple does NOTcare about you... Or me... Or the workers in China who make their crap... Or the child slave labor mining the minerals for their crap from the unsafe mines in the Congo... Or the E-waste they dump in Botswana. The only people Apple cares about are their stockholders.

Anyone that buys their products and therefore puts money into the pockets of multinational corporations that engage in that sort of immoral crap really has no right to take the moral high ground on any social issue.

However let me ask you a question, "Have you ever really lived?" Because to me it appears that you've got the "Yuppie" thing down pretty good. The problem is that Yuppies are like tourists in this world, they're just sightseeing and never really become part of it.

I grew up in Lac Saguay and trust me that I go hunting and fishing every single chance I get. As for the babes in Montreal, well, I have an old guy - young lady video line. McGill continues to furnish me with some sexy fun with students that need a little extra money.

However let me ask you a question, "Have you ever really lived?" Because to me it appears that you've got the "Yuppie" thing down pretty good. The problem is that Yuppies are like tourists in this world, they're just sightseeing and never really become part of it.

When someone purchases that shit they're contributing to the financial resources that corporations need for research and development. Corporations that will then build and sell surveillance drones and weaponized drones thereby contributing to the creation of a police state.

Which begs the question of what kind of world do you want your grandchildren to live in?

ok yep, my new favourite poster.

good words you shared. but one suggestion: know your audience. you are trying to reason with a dim-witted troll that thinks the NY times is telling it straight, & apple does no wrong on earth. a total bimbo; an externality of the disney channel.

just be happy you will be dead when the mark princes take power. my god.

:Oh crap

From this point, there is nowhere for this administration to go except down in flames in the most horribly embarrassing way. It will be epic. Over before it even started. I fucking love it.

Fuck you Trumptards. Have fun making bad decisions for the rest of your life.

You're honest so I'll give you that much. As for me I don't believe in left or right dichotomies or dogmas. Instead I see the world in terms of wealthy predators and ignorant prey. So when it comes to government it doesn't matter who wins the election because their job remains the same.... "To manage the livestock."

You're right about that that. Just witness the wealthy predators preying on the ignorant prey in Venezuela. The peasants are literally starving to death while the rulers get what ever they want. Leftism at work. :2 cents:
