JesseQuinn 05-11-2017 12:18 AM

personally I'd wither and die with so little color and the mercator projection makes me cringe but for the style it's meant to be, really well done.

those windows and the slanted roof especially, amazing space

davidCRM 05-11-2017 12:37 AM

neat :thumbsup

The wall looked really plain without the map, it needed something and that's the best I could come up with :thumbsup I will add some more plants I think though

Long time since we've chatted man - looks like you've been doing great which in this shitty industry is an accomplishment! Congrats, that's a handsome looking office.

Tho u once told me u went to the dentist and got charged $4 so the costs of things over there are considerably lower.

Not so much anymore. You can buy a very nice house in most of the US cheaper then you can in Poland. Dental work is still cheaper albeit we own a dental clinic too :1orglaugh
IT salaries have went up about 300% since I got here and soon it'll be cheaper to outsource to Germany then hire local lol

damn - what's pushing up wages and real estate in Poland so much? depends where u are in North America - Vancouver and Toronto are insane, a tiny shack house now costs well over $1M and that's just to tear it down and build a new house.

"brain drain" to western europe, and the fact that university here is free so pretty much everyone has a masters in something and speaks english so alot of companies setup shop in Poland (IBM, LG, Facebook etc etc). It drives the IT salaries way up. Medicine and legal jobs are also really high paying as well, and also shit like furniture making etc. Low skilled jobs like cashiers etc are the only ones that pay very little at this point

As for real estate, it won't compare to vancouver or toronto but a decent apartment all said and done (so finished with flooring, kitchen, bathrooms etc) is like $200-250k USD in the city centers. My house is probably worth $500k at this point if not more and it's 3200sqft in a village outside a major city. For that money i'd have one 2x bigger with a pool in Arizona in some places.

It was completely bare cinder block walls and concrete floor (i think it's called "shell and core" in english?). I hired a designer, but I did give him very precise guidelines on what I wanted. We scrapped a few things - we were going to do these industrial looking black pipes all over to carry around AC and ventilation but ended up doing two small ac wall units instead.

This was the building a couple of years ago:
Przed?wit 2 (Zuckerfabrik Groß Mochbern, Cukrownia "Muchobór"), Wroc?aw - zdj?cia

It was originally built in the 19th century and was part of a sugar factory called "Zuckerfabrik Gross Mochbern" when Wroclaw was part of Germany (Breslau). Most of the sugar factory was demolished in the 1930s

This is the building now:

yes! with all that natural light and stone more plants would look amazing, so good for your lungs too

as to the map, I do love the concept, just wish it was a Peters projection =)

jscott 05-13-2017 02:27 AM

Looks nice, thank you for posting pics of your bathroom before Markham came busting into the thread. Although Paul still may consider your toilet count too low for your office size.

It's the worst fucking toilet I've ever used. If it doesn't clog on us 2-3x a day it's a miracle. You practically have to pinch your turds off into smaller chunks to keep it from getting clogged :1orglaugh
