Rather than passively accepting that "they're all assholes" why not raise the bar and your expectations of those who govern and made decisions that effect your life?

No sir. I plug the car in when I am home for the night. 4 hours later it's fully charged.

If you're like the average American, you are spending about $2000 a year on gasoline according to this article.

I'm spending about $220.

Assuming you would invest your saves in something with a low 2% return, the money you save would give you about $9300 in only 5 years.

If you're really can't afford the time to charge your car while you're asleep, you could always buy a Tesla and be 80% charged in only 20 minutes, at any Tesla Supercharger, for free.

Really? And what if your EV crap runs out of power during the day? :1orglaugh:1orglaugh
Your EV crap is sure great for travelling sir :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

Seems EV cucks don't drive in the night, they need to charge their crappy EV bullshit for 4 hours ROFL

Guess what.. 20 minutes for 250 km of range is still fucking long for anyone who values his/her time.. I can load my car for 800 km in 2 minutes :1orglaugh

And no, I am European, it is written under my avatar pic, genius. :1orglaugh

How would changing my expectations actually change the performance of these assholes?

I still vote in every election - so it's not as if I'm taking an apathetic, passive stance. I stay current on news, economies and social issues. But beyond voting, there's very little one can do unless they're terminally unemployed and can spend all day as an activist.

Something I don't have the luxury of doing these days. I still have several million "activist" dependents that rely on my income tax support.

My car is a Volt. The first 80 Kilometers or so of driving is on pure electricity. If my battery charge runs out, its gasoline engine kicks in, turning the generator to power the electric engine.

There are charging stations all over Montreal. I can drive from home to downtown and back again about 5 times before having to switch to Gas, but I actually almost never have to because I can charge at the mall, or charge in dozens of parking lots downtown, or even charge on many city streets. Sometimes its free, and sometimes its a dollar an hour.

It is, and I'm speaking from experience. My last 2 cars were V8 Camaros.

All it really is, is changing your driving habbits slightly. Now I "Plug in" when I'm at home, or plug-in at any destination. I save a fortune on gas and pollute less too.

Charging at the half-way point of an 800km trip costs you 20 minutes, but saves you about $120 CAD In Quebec. If you're freaking out about saving 20 minutes on a long trip, you could always leave 20 minutes earlier.

You said it takes my car 12 hours to charge. You were wrong about that. You said it costs hundreds of dollars of time - you were wrong about that too. You assumed I couldn't drive it when the battery runs out - you were wrong about that. Etc.

And each time you were wrong, you "laughed", as if to pat yourself on the back, reassuring yourself that your own errors were somehow facts, to, I don't know, make yourself feel better I guess.

EV's aren't for everyone. Sometimes, gasoline is better. Where you live, maybe gasoline is cheap and electricity is expensive, who knows. Here in Quebec, the opposite is true, so it makes alot of sense for drivers to go EV. My average trip is less than 80Km, so EV makes sense for me this way too.

If you can't go EV where you live, then don't. If you don't want to go EV where you live, then don't.

If your reasons are true, then they are valid for you of course. But if you're reasons are not true, or if your reasons are based on opinions instead of facts, then you might just be lying to yourself, spending extra money when you don't need to, missing out on some cool tech, and some pretty nice cars.

Peace.

i have a tesla in germany since a few years already.
since that i never paid even a cent for gasoline because in whole germany a FREE charging stations. out of that it can be charged with a solarpanel.

as i have the double power pack in it the radius is near to 400 km.

and i have had a lot of sportscars in my life but not one of them can beat this power in 2,7 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h.

Wow, I'm so envious! I've always wanted a Tesla. Hopefully will pick one up in a few years. There are a couple of Tesla's on my street where I live, 2 Volts, and 1 Mitsubishi. I noticed a few of my neighbours are getting EV chargers installed so maybe more EV's are on the way soon.

Enjoy your awesome car!
