THEY CAN TELL EXCLUSIVE TO NON EXCLUSIVE - just by looking on the free stuff on tubes shared by different paysites. Seeing the same video on 10 different channels, even if they havent seen it yet, that itself creates 10 competitors.. and makes the content look cheap cause it's everywhere.

Exclusive content does matter a lot, even if it's just another couch fucking scene.

I agree with this! Whether or not the forum has slowed down, another possibility of less site owners, as sadly the UK lost many over the past 5 years.

However, good business is still created from this forum & i´m also pleased to be one of these people PN. Over the past few months I´ve continued to pick up new affiliates & sales from these new affiliates :thumbsup

My success was based on learning lessons from being in porn, then businesses outside porn and coming in at a different time when one did not need to be a programmer to be a pornographer.

You have touched on the reason porn is dying in terms of making money. 99% or maybe more of porn consumers don't spend hours looking at it. They find it, jerk off and get on with their lives. It's not a subject that one needs to spend hours looking at. Back in the day, they had to buy it to jerk off, today a 30-minute visit to a Tube and it's all done.

So thinking they're going to be surfing for hours on different tubes and upset because the same scenes are on different tubes is flawed.

Of course, if you spend all day skipping from one tube site to another and expecting to never see the same video twice. Don't judge the whole market by that.

The exception is the micro niche sector, where there are limited production and demand from a few for new material. Sadly the economics rarely support high numbers of production.

Always paid the bills, lives a very comfortable life and ended up, owning a home, bill free and enough investments to never worry about money.

But above all, enjoyed most of it.

I've always admired GFY's freedom but sometimes too much is too much, indeed.

In my 50 years the business has done a 360 turn and then gone around again.

The consumer, once hooked, is addicted to it. In 1966 they would travel many miles to visit a porn shop or jerk off to lingerie catalogue. Production, distribution and publishing were tough, 25 years ago production, distribution and publishing were still hard and supply limited. The earnings were astronomical.

20 years the Internet became user-friendly for porn. Slow and people selling discs mail order were still able to make a living. The biggest problem was content. Either people couldn't find it or couldn't afford it. Earnings weren't that great.

12 years ago opening a site or pushing traffic was the easiest part of the business and there were 10,000s of people working online from weekend hobbyists to full-timers. Earnings were that great.

Now opening a site and pushing traffic is dead easy. The problem is very few can make a living at it anymore. There's no new traffic that will pay, no new people able to get a foothold and experienced people dropping out. Earnings are abysmal and if one takes Dating out of the "Porn business" there would be far fewer people.

The saddest part is there have never been so many porn consumers. :(

Debate the numbers but the principle is right. We live in an age where giving stuff away for free is profitable. Just not very profitable for porn. If the Nike, Coco-Cola, Calvin Klien, Ford level of companies start advertising on porn sites, the income will soar again.
