He drove the wrong way up a one way street he most certainly did not have a right away.

*SHOULD* he have done that? Probably not - It was pretty clearly antagonizing the protestors, but you cannot tell me that laying in the middle of an unclosed public road is a responsible thing to do either. They should be in front of a building protesting or something, not laying down in a road blocking traffic.

I'm ok with people's right to protest, but I think it's done better here. People don't just block public roads by laying down on them or block entire highways because "black lives matter" - they get schedule and get permits for marches through cities, along with police escorts. Both the far left and the far right do it this way. Doing it like that doesn't "raise awareness", it just makes THEM look like assholes for making people late.

Taxi drivers did it the wrong way here about a week ago - they blocked off 3 major cities during morning rush hour to protest uber. Now everyone here hates taxi drivers.

The Boston Tea Party wasn't the "responsible" thing to do either.. Maybe healthcare isn't a "life" or "death" issue to you k0nr4d, but is IS to some people. For some people losing their health insurance WILL BE a death sentence. Would you not go to the streets if someone was sentencing you to death to save someone else a little money? You think it's ok do kill people in order to save some people tax money?

This is what Trump and Republicans are doing. We already know the numbers.. 20 million WILL lose their coverage under the GOP's plan the 1st year. Many of those people WILL die because they lost that coverage. Now we are seeing they are cutting medicaid which means millions of seniors/disabled will not have money for nursing homes/medical care.

This is people's lives k0nr4d.. because some dick head who posts on GFY was a bit inconvenienced because he couldn't drive up a street the wrong way doesn't make him a hero.. It makes him a fucking dick just like it makes people supporting him a dick when they don't take a moment to understand WHY those people were on the street.

Just because it's not an issue to you doesn't mean it doesn't drastically affect other people.. Millions of people. This isn't a minor inconvenience for many people, it's a drastic issue which requires blocking streets if they think that will help have their voice heard..

I'm not going to argue, because I will never understand - I've never lived anywhere that healthcare requires payment - but no matter what, laying in a public street to me seems fucking stupid, and we aren't talking about *killing* 20 million people here either, but people who believe they have some issue.

They can protest, that's fine, just laying down on a street or blocking a highway or doing whatever else protesters do in the US is just ridiculous to me. I just cannot understand the reasoning. "if someone cannot drive down this road, they will recognize our cause" or what? In the grand scheme of things Trump won't give a flying fuck that a road was blocked for 2 hours but they WILL piss off a lot of innocent people. It maybe wasn't right what he jeff did but imho every one of those people laying on the road should have been arrested/detained - again i'm not against healthcare, or whatever these peoples cause is, or their right to protest - but it's just not the proper way to protest to me. :2 cents: One could argue that this was Jeff's way of protesting a stupid method of protesting (again not cause, but method).

That being said, they should be ecstatic this guy did this, because their cause is all over the news now, and all i'm really getting at here is regardless of the validity of their reason to protest - they shouldn't be blocking streets.

You're not understanding the situation.

In San Fransisco you get a permit to protest, like these protesters did. Here's what happened:

1) go-to city with date, time & location of planned protest.

2) pay fee for protest permit

3) City blocks traffic @ time of protest & provides officers for protesters safety.

4) Biker enters blocked area of planned protest

5) Biker is detained

The protesters weren't blocking traffic, there was no traffic as the area is blocked off for a planned protest with permit.

You have to follow the same procedure for street concerts, rallies, parades, etc.

The biker was disrupting a planned, permitted & paid for protest. Protesters weren't randomly blocking traffic and pissing off motorists. Maybe you see the picture a little more clearly now? San Fransisco is strange, a lot of free speech history there and precise procedures to avoid being fined or arrested for protest without a permit.
