I think the concept is a great one. Small enough numbers to be manageable and still gets lots of issues discussed and ideas raised. Mix in a few local or fresh blood that could bring up things not thought of by the core group in these events, and things could really turn out great. Those that think you can't get value out of a 20 person 1 day event just don't know what they're missing. I do a 4 hour meeting once a month with 7 other business owners and it's tremendously valuable when formatted properly (see eonetwork.org).
