Disrespect. they wouldn't be there without the fans who pay their salaries. attention whores

tfto 09-24-2017 10:03 PM

Fans watch sports to excape from the world and politics for a few hours. Kneeling during the National Anthem is disrespectful and it is a slap in the face to everyone who gave their life and limb for the freedoms we have now.

It should be interesting how many more fans will stop watching football as these protests continue.

I'm curious about this as well. I read that this season the NFL's ratings are down about 10% and many think it is because some players are kneeling and the whole controversy with Colin Kaepernick.

This weekend a lot of players, some coaches, and even one owner knelt or sat and three teams just stayed in the locker room completely while the anthem was played. I'm curious to see if this has any further effects.

What is interesting to me is that Marshawn Lynch's jersey is the #2 best-selling jersey in the league this season and he sits during the anthem. I'm sure a big part of that is because it is his first year with the Raiders, but I'm curious to see how other player's jersey sales go now that this is a big issue that involves the President.

So it isn't all Trumps fault after all then.

If any Scottish player didn't respect "Flower of Scotland" for whatever reason he had, i wouldn't want him to wear a Scotland jersey again...

Trump just stuck his foot in his mouth mentioning Pat Tillman , his fucking family have been fighting with the government for years trying to get answers as to why they used his death as political propaganda and bull shit, and here's Trump raising his ashes again in 2017

WHAT A FUCKING MORON.. this ones going to bite.

OH btw Trump threated to destroy another country last week and they are in final stages of preparing to throw some of their presumed 60 nukes at you. Your all getting ready aren't you?

Axeman 09-25-2017 07:28 AM

I don't care if the protest. I think its stupid to put at risk your paycheck, but if they think it will work for their desired result, whatever that might be, fly at it. But don't whine and moan when those big paychecks start to shrink on the next CBA as they lose ratings and attendance. Though current players don't care, as they will be mostly done by then. Its the future players that will lose out.

I wonder how many more of these small sponsors will pull their money.

Kneeling quietly & respectfully during the anthem, I'm fine with that, it's respectful. There are white players doing this too, not sure why it's always the black players catching all the flack but whatever.

Players kneeling know the potential consequences.

You are not sure why? Really?

Defending your country from what?

You talk like you live in a country that is completely different. Your arguments are seriously hippocritical.

Dead motherfuckers can't cash the check!

That's what the Black players are thinking about.

Big pay checks don't make bullets bounce off their black ass when cops gun them down when they reach for their wallet just like they were told to do.

Of course that's just silly.

Yes, the First Amendment covers this. However, the First Amendment has to do with Government, NOT whether or not you can protest at work. If your employer says stand or you're fired then that's the right of the employer these people have CHOSEN to work for. Don't like it? Go flip burgers instead. :2 cents:

Trump and the racist element is not their employers, nor their "owners".

These people are risking their jobs to stand up for what they beleive in.

Wtf. I hope you are trolling. If you really believe Trump or anyone who is at the top is "racist", you've been duped.

If you can call the "system" prejudiced, it is against the poor born. Literally nobody who calls the shots in one way or the other gives a shit about skin color, simply because it doesn't make sense, they do not gain from it, it's totally useless and not worth their time. Those times are long gone and you have fallen for the lies if you still believe skin color makes a difference.

Even south africa, home of the apartheid, has passed the skin color drama. I've been there and i've seen as much white beggars as black beggars there, and that's a country that has been severely racially segregated until the 90s! There is no big evil plan anymore against skin color, especially not in the developed western world. It does not exist anymore, only in the minds of some people who let themselves get brainwashed by mass media, BLM, etc.

That's the dumbest shit I've read on here in awhile. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Let me know when you find one that has been killed by a cop in this list. Also may want to have a look at how many of those that were black were killed by other blacks https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...ootball_League

Did a little research for you. Every single active NFL player murdered was black and murdered by another black person. 3 outside of nightclubs and 2 by their wives. There are zero active white players murdered.

Brain wash alert...in free countries this is no big deal...you are sounding like North Koreans...this would never make the news in free countries where people are free...as in free to do what they want without intolerance...

As I heard today,"NFL players kneeling has as much to do with the flag as Rosa Parks protesting public transportation."

Paraphrased but you get the point.

I like what cowboys did today...they kneeled before anthem....then stood for anthem. I think Trump is the biggest idiot in political history. I hope he gets impeached. Maybe I can say this..nfl players..make your point next week.. EVERYONE kneel. Then move on. The flag represents our country and now our country has issues.. so yes protest, but then show respect for it after that for the good things the flag represent. This is not the best of times, but look around the globe, theres lots worse. You've made your point athletes, and going against some my prior statements, good job. Now move on and offer input how to fix our issues.
