From very early on magazines had a Readers Wives section. It didn't matter if she was a stunner of plain they bought the pictures. Most of this material was shot on colour negative film and is lost. £25 to £50 a pic and they would use 2-4. With a British and American mag taking the same set, it doubled the income. Easy money for 18 pictures of a girl, it was also a great way to see how she posed. Everything had to come with 2257 documents.

One guy, who will remain nameless, had a site where he sold banner spaces. Ran 3 top photographers content on individual sites, ran big banner ads on his site and swore blind the sites made less than he would charge for the ad space. DDF found an honest guy who could see the future, and a few others, you know what they did online. The short-sightedness of online people was amazing at the time. It was too easy to make some money and many lost the big money. Companies like Score, PRO, etc made a fortune online by finding honest webmasters. |
Regarding Rochard's comment about shooting average girls. I was shooting videos while in the UK and personality was more important than looks for the style I was shooting. So shooting one or two sets a week of young pretty girls was more profitable than competing with the top dogs shooting al the stunners who came mostly from agents.
That changed when we arrived in Czech. |

We shot a lot of these two, especially the brunette, they had the ability to look into the lens with a good look that engaged. Also it was very important to cover all the poses.
