Werent?t they mostly a prelude to more? I think this is the question being put to society. Are you allowed to push forward when the other person has repercussions for saying no?

Total side note -is anyone else sort of bummed that power is not the aphrodisiac thst we were led to believe? I assume these guys got yes?s or they would not have kept doing it but wow, the turn down rate looks high.

Calling out every man who does this and destroying him could work as a band aid for the problem, but it doesn't get at the root of the problem. Once women are thought of as equals in the workplace or elsewhere, then they'll stop being the victim. Do you think female managers and CEOs get harassed by their male underlings? I'm not saying every chick should be in charge of something.

One other thing is that I think people need to realize is that we're a species at odds with our biology. Men like to fuck and we have all these societal rules which go against what our dick drives us to do....like get married. Also, we don't climb on top of the hot girl at the squat rack, rip a hole in her yoga pants and start fucking her. We'd sure like to but we're not living in caves anymore. Although that time may seem like long, long ago...it's not that long in our biological evolution. We're probably not evolved very far from that at all.

Going back to the first part of the post, my wife believes this kind of behavior is all power based and the sexual component is only a small part. I tend to believe it's a lot more about sex and maybe just being angry about not being able to have her. Obviously if these serial harassers could have sex with their chosen targets, then would be having sex with them instead of terrorizing the girls for months or years.

Wouldn't it be a better situation to be the kind of guy a girl wants to have sex with? Then you start having sex with her. But for some guys a harassing campaign gets him off more than getting sweaty on top of her naked body...because there's probably a deep hatred of women buried in there. And a bad case of assholitus.

Actually that's a great question! And this is where I bring a woman's responsibility into it. No, a guy is not usually going to ask "Do you want me to stop?" because he doesn't want to stop. So it is the woman's responsibility at that point to say STOP.

A lot of the allegations coming out now, years later, are because women felt at the time that they could not just say STOP. They were afraid of ruining their careers, etc. But a woman has to make a decision right there and then that NO means NO and STOP means STOP and her career be damned.

Easy for me to say I understand. But when it comes to celebrities these women also have to get over their star struck state and keep their wits about them. No going to the celeb's hotel room or apartment alone at night, etc.
