Funny how those that speak of accountability and holding a public office always ignore those that have money or power over others. Obama did try to change the poise after the banking crisis and some of those changes are taking shape as we speak since the ftc is now targeting people in the banks for wrong doing. I think it is about time bad actors can not hide behind 'corporate' protections. Most of these investigations started 8 years ago and to that new position just a few years ago. Now we see actual prosecutions in court. But there has been a push for legislation to protect these folks. Perhaps they will get it and un-noticed with everything else going on.

But it does bug me that the legislators make and remove many rules in bills that they really do not have a clue what is in them or the implications of them. It comes down to 'Advisers' which now-a-days is the new word for 'lobbyist'.

I thought maybe, just maybe folks would start to look at that issue when 60 minutes revealed what happened in the opioid crises and caught most of them currently holding office not knowing that they passed the legislation that enabled that.
I would have thought that would have been a story straight through the mid-terms under any other circumstances.

I guess all the Russia/Trump headlines let it hide in the smoke.
But it's a major problem and part of how we end up in these messes.
