Especially since I love comics.

I saw it last night! [NO SPOLIERS]

Black Panther is good! It has a different "look and feel" than the last few Marvel movies, and the movie overall is a little slow-moving like an origin story. The acting is great and it's a perfect new addition to the MCU.

Here's what I wasn't expecting:

- Lots of black people in the audience were dressed up in beautiful African gear. Everyone was taking pictures in front of the giant Black Panther signs outside. Everyone was super proud to be there. It was as if this were a movie premiere event.

- Please applauded and cheered at the end of the movie. About 25% of the audience gave a standing ovation.

- The last post-credit scene had the audience cheering. I won't tell you what it is and if you're not into the MCU you won't get it, but of course, if you're into the MCU, you MUST stay until the very last frame.

Overall, good movie! My favourite is still Captain American: The Winter Soldier though. This one is probably impossible to beat in my opinion.

#NERDSASSEMBLE!

True it wasn't as good as 1 or 2, but I still enjoyed it. I think the first one is still the best, but the second one had some amazing violence and gore effects.

as usual, ill torrent it.

Will I still understand Black Panther if I haven’t seen the Pink Panther?

This movie is being used by all the leftists, professional whiners and BLM victim crowd to praise it JUST BECAUSE it depicts black people as a superhero etc.

Their ONLY motivation to praise this movie is SKIN COLOR - now how primitive, simplistic and racist can you get? It is getting beyond pathetic at this point.

Remember when race didn't matter at all? Why wasn't this being said when Blade came out? It's like the western world was a lot smarter back then, now the sickening SJW agenda has taken over everything, and everything is about race nowadays.

Constantly talk about race and how different races are - they do this to CREATE DIVISION. This movie is not 'empowering' anyone but the pockets of shitty Marvel studios, grow the fuck up.

This ^ ... but I still enjoyed getting out and watching the movie.

Saw it this weekend. It was "okay". Not in my top ten for sure.

RyuLion 02-19-2018 11:27 AM

I'm gonna wait till Thursday to watch this one. :)

Too bad. For you that is..! I'll always pay to see a movie in a theatre. I've never once copied a movie, or downloaded it illegally, or anything like that.

Yes but if you must, make sure you watch the Pink Panther with Peter Sellers, and not the gawd-awful Steve Martin version. Ack.

Oh and, OMG

I think it was over hyped a bit.

I'm really looking forward to the Han Solo movie.

It doesn't matter why you think it sucks. No disrespect meant, but Marvel is nerdy comic-book fantasy science fiction. It's not for everybody, and if it's not your thing, then why care?

What is your favourite movie btw?

No need! I love classic sci-fi. When Worlds Collide, Forbidden Planet, etc...

One of my favourite classic sci-movies is one that not everyone knows about, called 4-D Man. It's great! Terrible, but great! I've seen it a dozen times and could watch it another dozen times.

bronco67 02-19-2018 10:11 PM

Going to see it tomorrow in Dolby Atmos with low expectations. I like the director's work so far.

:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh yep! it just looks like all the other movies bs

JesseQuinn 02-19-2018 10:41 PM

not really into movies tbh, I have a difficult time sitting still for too long

when I was a kid Dances with Wolves and Babette's Feast (both very long movies) I loved cuz basically everyone just showed up to mess around. rip to the old Westwood theater with their removable arm rests =). I still really know nothing about what those movies are about in any detail after 'seeing' each dozens of times.

I know this is a thread about a movie rather than real life politics but still wanna drop this and this cuz the Black Panther movement was created for very specific reasons that have yet (years later) to be resolved.

Haven't see the flick but hope that's addressed within it
