50 million disappointed porn surfers have abandoned Google, due to Bing's more relevant search results.

and where are this users?

regarding to SE traffic my analytics tells me that traffic from bing and yahoo + others dropped in the last 7 days but google traffic increased.

are we talking about the same internet ? ;-)

It's a "50" replies post and not based on fact, but wishful thinking that Google isn't omnipotent.

Actually have to ask you there. What analytics are you using? Googles?

thommy works at Google. Don't bother asking him what he sees, he always sees pink in Google, although everyone I know is screaming about Google's crap results.
Google must be serving special results for him. Meanwhile Bing & Yahoo are up for me.

for me it is not a wishful thinking.
i can remember the times too well when we had to optimize on each search engine with other rules.

google brought a standard what made it much easier - so i hope it will not happen.

btw. the first lost results are already back.
I think they have checked that the reputation factor had a much too high influence on porn results.

well you can try to make a joke out of what i say or believe it.
if you are not interested when others have other experience and want to believe that google is fighting a war with you - itīs up to you.

it does not bring me any advantage to share my experiences with one of you - I can also keep them for me and it will not take a single cent from my income.
I am 21 years in that biz and i was always successful - do you really think this is just luck?

windstorm 03-13-2018 05:42 AM

Yet someone started this thread and others have complained too. You are the only one seeing all fine in Google.

Why not show some results for you? I am talking about your personal searches in Google. But not a search like "porn", something more specific, with at least 3 words (e.g. husband fucking wife).

For example for me, that search shows first page fine(only big tubes, even with repetitions) but next pages are full of non adult. How to get any traffic in such situation? So smaller websites are simply left out.

windstorm 03-13-2018 05:51 AM

You can say what you get as results. It's not private information. I am just curious of what you get. Otherwise you bring no benefit to this discussion. What's so hard to do it.

windstorm 03-13-2018 05:55 AM

I've tried several 3 words searches in Google, pure adult terms. From page 2 and on, only shit, a lot of non adult mixed with some adult sites. Page 1 is impossible to get, only big tubes there.

I have also tried same keywords with VPN (US IP) with incognito, getting the same shit results. I have to compete with ebaumsworld, Google books, reddit and alike. Completely random shit. The only stable projects that I have are the ones where Bing is the main source of organic traffic. In rest, I have projects that got 50% up from Google and in 3 days all was lost. These algo updates are insane.

Think as a surfer, would you go to page 2 and so on, if all you get is irrelevant shit? Surely not, I would stick to the page 1 results.

look into google.
there are many changes today !

and they are explainable because google have a "reputation factor" (trust rank part of the algo).

as it looks, this reputation factor was too much influencing the porn results - thatīs why even amazon could get a better rank than any porn site.

thatīs also the reason why there was no change in the picture search and the videos search because the trust rank has not yet influence on content.

windstorm 03-13-2018 06:05 AM

Yes I know about that, it has happened in the past as well, when non adult sites were ranking over adult sites but after update they were filtered.

Only problem is, this time they kept this shit for a long time. For example, Google books has been sticking in many adult terms for already couple of months. I wouldn't care if it was on page 10, but they appear on page 2 or even page 1, so they are displacing adult results.

So the only way I could get organic traffic is to be on page 1 or page 2 by some luck. But that narrows it down a lot, since big tubes have taken those places already (especially with September update that gave more weight to big tubes).

In the end we have this: big tubes got more weight in September, so they are predominant in first page results and page 2, 3 etc have been filled with a lot of non relevant shit for the past months. The only way to rank with tubes is to make new projects, as Google tends to give a temporary boost even for big terms to new sites.

forget about the search term "porn" - it will not work anymore !

and you would anyway NEVER have a chance to go there in the tops because this is a so called UNSHARP TERM (google calls it NOGO TERM) and for such terms the algo works different.

if i look with proxy and private window in google.com i can see ALL really relevant terms with porn results.

free porn, hardcore porn, xxx porn, pornmovies - all full with porn

windstorm 03-13-2018 06:26 AM

I did not search with "porn", I searched with "fucking" (ex: husband fucking wife), that should really be an adult term. Because terms with "sex" are already much filtered (like "husband makes sex with wife").

Regarding results for the terms you said, it's not about Page 1 results, those I get fine too. I am talking about Page 2 and on.

Anyway, I would have preferred a much more balanced market share between Google/Bing. Being dominant, Google can do whatever it wants to searches that don't benefit their revenue (like adult traffic).

but look a search engine is not existing to do a favor to YOU.
the big tubes are dominating because they have the broadest range of cats for an unsharp key and because they have the most returning users.

what would you chose if you would be a search engine ?

i agree with you that google does not work well at the moment - also for their users but if you ever worked with complicated algos on a worldwide base with 1000nds of circumstances what are "special" for a country you would know how complicated (up to impossible) it is to realize it.

google is a monster - but even this monster does not have sufficient capacities to check all and everything right away.
and as they donīt make money with porn they will look first on the problems they have with the contents they make money with.

try your search with "Dating" "Adult Dating" Sex Dating" etc and look how many adword campaigns you will find. and then look at the results and you know WHY they keep an eye on this categories first.

you would not do it different - I would not do it different and NOBODY would do it different if he would own google.

thatīs why the first thing you need when you want to receive organic search engine traffic is called EMPATHY !!!

Google has recently reversed a plan to take down adult content from a blog network. But they have the authority and power to change their mind at any point. BUUUT I think it's wise to turn safe search off if you're really annoyed, haha.

well the site owner (with the cloned content) should tell it google - if not it will take a while because this is god old cloaking.

it does not make sense to be annoyed and write "google will die" in boards. I read that since 21 years from each one who does not get enough traffic from them.

or tell them how to change the problem - they will pay you good !

but as all this is science fiction I better work with what is existing - even when i would have many complaints because google could easily send me more traffic.

Here is another example of quality result from Google:

'SWINGER caseros espanol' Search - XVIDEOS.COM
'SWINGER caseros espanol' Search - XVIDEOS.COM
Translate this page

Let me know what you understand from the description. This is page 1 result. Btw, does xvideos/xnxx pay to Google or what? On so many searches these sites appear with 2-3 results in page 1.

So that means 5-6 places in Top 10 taken by them. I've checked many of such results, videos are very old ones with poor quality. How the heck the crap AI decides to rank so many pages of same site? I really doubt they have only best content for those keywords.

Similarweb says xvideos has 40% SE and 40% direct traffic. The SE traffic seems excessive, not even pornhub has that. They gained 10% SE in less than a year(imagine at their amount). I am not saying they do not deserve organic traffic, but Google is giving more food to already a fat guy...

Yes, probably that's where this goes, surfers will start finding porn sites through links. There is no surprise that there are so many link sites now. We are going back to the early ages of internet.

windstorm 03-14-2018 04:50 AM

Here is another term with same shit result in top 10 (pilladas en la playa):

'pilladas playa real' Search - XVIDEOS.COM

2d place for my search. What can a surfer understand from such description? As you can see, it's a generated search inside xvideos. That's the idea of G of taking surfer directly to content.

i really donīt know where you are seeing this monsterphrase but if you was searching for "pilladas en la playa" the result is more than correct.
all videos there are relevant to this search.

this page is a result of a follow-link to the internal search on xvideos.
when you open the source code you can even see the logic behind it.

this is a normal and common way to show search engines how to link on assortments of content (what totally makes sense.

as you see the link is going to:
xvideos . com / ?k= pilladas + en + la + playa

this is the search function of xvideos what is listing all content with one or more of the 4 keys.

If you look at the results there they are perfectly in order.
first the ones where every key is in one of the criteria (cat, tag, title) and then the ones with 3 of them and so on.

so i donīt know what should be wrong with that?

what result would you expect when you are a user what is searching for pilladas+en+la+playa as a tonn of videos what are relevant to those phrases ?

This is the result I get:

https://imgur.com/a/jF0zl

I understand the logic behind indexation, but I don't get what google algo understands to show that shit description. For human eye it makes no sense.

And as I said before, 5 results for xvideos&xnxx. Way too excessive. It's like they have a priority from Google. But whatever, time will tell what will happen with adult traffic. If all that Google wants is top 10 crowded with tubes and rest of results just non adult, then so be it.

xnxx gets 60% SE. Looks like they can spam with any key possible, Google accepts it. In adult there is no place for unique anyway, just dump 100k videos and that's it.

What's the point of Google then if half a page of results are xvideos/xnxx? It just shows a search within site, I can do that myself, why do I need Google if every search result is so.

Google better give me best results out of 10 tubes, so I get the content that has the best stats (regardless if it is a search results page or a video itself).

I see now what you mean about this description but it does not appear on the page.
this is a mistake on the website because they did not set a meta description there and than it can happen that google takes it from a script or something like that.

the meta description has no influence on the ranking - it just influencing the CTR of a listing and CAN possibly influence than the ranking later.

and to answer you question WHY there are only this 2 sites mainly have to do with the reputation factor.
if you understand google list algo you know that 2 similar relevant pages will finally be listet in order of their reputation.

a over long time high traffic site does automatically have a higher reputation as a site with few traffic. and those high traffic sites automatically get a lot of links from authorities.

the order for listingposition is

1. relevance
2. selection range
3. machine readable logic

followed by many other factors like time on site, numbers of pages viewed speed and many many more

and this all is getting compared with reputation against trust rank.

nobody really knows how much value is in each and every single aspect but reputation got a MUCH bigger value since november - and this is visable.

if you ever played with an algorithm like the gauss equal distribution you are ending up in the world of chaos. this is where the butterfly effect comes up with unpredictable results.

nobody in the world (including google) is able to check all possible search entries on human logic. this is why human factors came to the game but they take MUCH longer
to detect.

how many users have to search for such a phrase in google til google can see that the result clicks are under average ?

they will not see that from 100 searches - they need at least 600 for each result on each position. what are millions of searches til they can react automatically.

and now imagine that in a universe with trillions of possible search phrases in thousands of langues and hundreds of countries.

this will NEVER be perfect - not for google and not for anybody else in the next one or two centuries.

windstorm 03-14-2018 10:04 AM

Look at what Google is testing. I wouldn't be surprised it would go into adult too. User has to click "show all results" to see more results. If you are not Spot 1, then bye:

"Google Shows Answer Without Any Search Results"

https://s3.amazonaws.com/images.sero...1520986340.png

It's their choice of course, but I for one don't see a bright future for any site in Google, regardless if adult or not. Google will try to have a bigger own ecosystem without the need to go to Site A or Site B.

i have seen that already and i think it will be good for us.
it only appears when they have adwords - as they donīt have adwords in porn we will not be effected.

it only forces advertisers (i.e on dating) into adwords - and then there is a competition and price war. all this advertisers will be welcome on porn sites.
i love google ;-) - hope they do that with all who still donīt want to advertise on porn.

Wow, great news! They finally cleaned the non adult results! I am getting great results as of now. No more Google Books etc. So I was right all along, due to these nonsense results my organic traffic was very low.

Now all projects are going up. I was right about it. It goes to show how much organic traffic was lost due to non adult results replacing adult sites.

And today, -50% ! i really do not understand. If i read your answers, it's like Google considers i'm mainstream ? (we do not have any ads).

thatīs what i told you - they will clean it by setting a dumping filter in porn stuff on the reputation value.
this is exactly what happend now but i think it is not the end yet because I can also see domains ranking what are registered 2 days ago. thatīs dangerous.

for me it looks like
reputation filter minus
actuality plus

Regarding non adult results, that happened in the past as well, being filtered with update. Not something new. What was new this time is that Google Books etc stayed much longer in serps than before.
Now remains to see if this update is here to stay for a while or temporary.

as far as I saw the results all of them have been "relevant" to the search term and all results have been on domains with high reputation.

means: as soon as the new york times writes something about porn (pornstar) and you have porn on your site you lose because your reputation as a porn site can not be the same as the one from new york times.

when this reputation have too much weight in the algorythm it kills every porn result.

and reputation is a very very high ranking factor at google. they even explain that somewhere how they determine the position of search results. maybe i can find the link again somewhere.

it is very interesting and important to understand what googleīs idea behind this algorithm is and if you once understand that you will not need any SEO who tells you bullshit because everything becomes logic.
there is no reason to declare a war against google if you know their rules and their vision ;-)

My traffic was up for a full week (drastically up - like 50% or more across sites) since this "core update" and then literally killed off last night (12 hours ago since I'm writing this)

on a funnier side... there is a full blown zoo porn videos page on top of page 4 for "sex videos" search

on a serious note.. are governments ever going to do some anti-monopoly rule for google? they are pretty much privatizing whole internet to do, use and display as they see fit

My Google traffic has almost disappeared today. Seems the more I work on my sites and make them Panda and visitor friendly the more Google deranks them.

Why hasn't anyone successfully created an adult search engine yet? Is it because those that have tried have gotten too greedy and spamed the homepage with adverts and popups and skewed search results?

US dont give a fuck, but EU did a lot .
Example 1: forced microsoft to offer selection of browsers on initial installation of windows
Example 2: penalized google for favouring it's own shopping stores over everything else

And there are others which cant remember now. But it's a case by case basic, which means they can adjust and find a hole in judgement which make that same judgement useless.

Same here and as you, we never worked so hard on UX and unique good content and we do not have ads...

I'm hoping some adjustment or rollback soon ... because i really don't understand

i really donīt know where you get this idea from that google will list sites with unique content first.

i am pretty sure that if you have a video with "lucy miller fucks with john doe on the balcony" and you are the only one who have that google will show your result fist.

but i think you wait that google shows this result when a user is searching for "porn".

this dumb SEO fairy tales seems to make 99% of all webmasters blind for the reality.
google does not work like that.

That is weird about other adult sites getting dropped. All I saw was non adult results being filtered, algo adjusted. But then again, adult websites are so many.

honestly, that what you wrote is exactly what I have, in a way (super unique texts, very cleverly written)

and it used to work like a motherfucker (excellently), AND I never aimed for "porn"

however, with google algo "evolving" they are giving less weight to long tail
so, my diagnosis would say that search "lucy miller fucks with john doe on the balcony"
would most likely give results like:

1. "Who fucks with john doe?" (no lucy miller anywhere)
2. google book about lucy miller (that has "john doe" somewhere in the longer text..)
3. Balcony fucks - from xvideos/pornhub/youtube

So.. yeah, it's broken as fuck all together

It seems unless you have a massive site already, google se traffic is dead.

So why people continue to give away all this free content? To get more se traffic? To help trade freeloaders for more freeloaders?

In a way I hope advertising revenue continues to fall, so only those charging access to video content can remain profitable.

This business is like gambling, the highs of google se traffic keep you hooked, but you know your luck will run out again.
