While I can understand the frustration Mark, the attempt to shame a fellow GFY member who appears to have legally obtained the domain is in poor taste. Every seller has the right to set his or her price. At one point I controlled over 4000 names, and lost a few gems, which I had to buy back or let go. That forced me to organize everything better, so it wouldn't ever happen again.

Decide how important the domain is to you. Make a reasonable counter offer, or consider asking if installments are available. Spread out the payments over 6-12-18 months, and once its paid up, it can be transferred back to you.

Either way, good luck to both parties.

Let's Clarify: TheDynasty bought a domain name associated with my brand, and attempted to sell it back at a huge profit. Jen/Tracy emailed him a few times asking him to be cool about this and to give it back to us, but he refused.

Tonight I emailed him the link to this thread. He so far hasn't engaged me in email or engaged me here. He hasn't.

You said it all there. All's fair in love war and business, so long as it's legal. Blame yourself for losing the domain.

For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

The guy doing this is just seeing the beginning of the negative reactions, and actions, he will receive. He's holding the domain ransom for more reasons than money, he feels powerless and holding the domain makes him feel powerful. He doesn't realize how more powerful and how good he'll feel giving the domain back for a small profit of $250.

He needs to just sell the domain back for $250 and have lesson learned for Mark, this way Chris (TheDynasty) will come ahead as being smart & gracious. If he drags this out and let's it fester it's only going to get worse for him.

A couple hundred bucks would be fair. Come on, do the right thing and don't be a slimeball.

We can argue whether its legally acceptable etc but it all comes down to decency. We all know people in life whos greed for money comes before anything else. Someone i spoke to on here i got to know on here couldnt renew 4 domains cause he was down on his luck. He offered to transfer the domains over to me if i paid the renewal. These were great aged domains that would have easily made a few thousand dollars. I told him to keep the domains and payed for them. He gave me the money back a month later. And no it was not that scammer thebutcher, it was someone i trusted 100% and knew he would have transferred the domains over. Moral of the story is its your decency on the line

Yes of course it would, but that's too bad, for them. For me personally, I don't decide whether or not to do business with someone based on political or other opinions. I care more about the basics such as value for the money, after-sales support, etc.

As we all know, there are no fees to pay to the outgoing registrar... But "Domain System Notices" were asking $75.00 US to process the demand . "Domain System Notices" is a reseller of Joker , tried with them to clear up : no answer .

I paid, kept that major domain of a mainstream project ( CMS: condo management system ) and turned the page .
