Taxpayers fund Post Office losses. Perid.

Should we complain of the 800 billion that tapayers subsidized with the DOD ? It is making many companies very rich .... |
The USPS had a choice -- give a discount or lose millions in revenue to competition. The postal service gives discounts for volume business. Amazon ships mostly through package-delivery companies due to free tracking, reliable service and low rates. UPS gives a 60% discount to Amazon last I heard. They are literally keeping these delivery companies in business and keeping our rates from going up too much.
I thought our taxes funded the USPS because the workers are paid by the government. I'm surprised to learn otherwise. I'd think Amazon would use the USPS much more if the tracking were free as well as insurance. They need to work out a deal where both parties win. The post office needs to implement better and easier methods of adding tracking and insurance as those forms are a pain to fill out by hand. Make it simpler for us and business to add those in and business would grow. Trump doesn't like Bezos as he's jealous Bezos isn't bankrupt and seemingly is well-liked. He wants to be top dog in the business world but others are higher up the ladder. Next he'll go after Bill Gates |
He's only showing what a backward thinking old coot he is.
Let's bring back coal too while we're busy trying to undermine a thriving business called Amazon. He's a fucking clueless moron. |

If it does not want the business it has a very simple choice - put the price up, or dont carry Amazons deliveries. No one is getting their arm twisted here. Amazon is simply getting the best deal it can in a free market of competing suppliers. How is your tax return looking Paul ?, I suppose you get the best deal you can whilst paying the minimum in taxes. Is this a bit like your view on immigration ? Do as I say, not as I do ? :1orglaugh |

Meanwhile in Germany immigrants are murdering natives and everyone is fine with it except the so-called racists. In fact the anti-racists=libs/left wants to invite more murderous men from middle east, cause it's the right thing to do. :thumbsup |

they believe that the economy grows when the postal car drives with 5 packages for 20 dollar each as with 100 packages for 5 dollar. |
One more little reminder: the Walmart family just received a giant tax cut, still they pay so little that many employees have to get food stamps or work 2 jobs. Meanwhile the debt skyrockets because of the tax cut and now guess who will pay for it all?
But yeah, it's Amazon's fault that USPS offered them a rate they make a loss at. You people are really fucked up stupid. |

i have a very nice example here in mallorca where i live in one of the most expensive areas of the island. since around 1,5 years I have to go every week to the postal office (there is one with 2 counters for the whole town) and ask if there is any letter for me. all my neighbors have to do the same. on good days I only have to wait 1 hour til they tell me "no". reason: since the state postal service has not granted any discounts to major customers, the extradition to a whole district no longer pays off. More than 100 homeowners now have to pick up the mail themselves. trump's second argument in which he blames amazon for shutting down small shops is also drawn from the air, as 80% of the articles distributed via amazon are from such small shops which were only then given the opportunity to reach a larger market. to act against Amazon means to act against all these millions of small shopkeepers and homeshops who could never afford such an infrastructure. but you do not have to explain this to people who prefer to build walls instead of windmills when the wind blows. who finds something great on trump shows the symptom of a fairly big brain damage. |

Not sure what happens in your states, but 95% of all the delivery's i got in CA and now in ME are via UPS. I place around 700-1000 orders a year for myself and my companies.
USPS accounts for less .05% ( and thats only small stuff " Smart Post ",that UPS is too lazy to deliver ) the remainder arrive via FedEx. And like so many intelligent GFY members have stated USPS does not have to give Amazon discounts if they don't want to ? Chump is just jealous of Jeff Bezos as he is way more successful and may well be the worlds first Trillonaire ? |

I read an interesting article that put forth the idea that the worlds first trillionaire will be an AI. I am willing to be the face man if you are reading..lol |

Trump complained that Amazon is using the United States Post Office as it's own "delivery service". Um, yes.... That's what we all use it for. In fact, that's exactly what the USPS is.
You can argue the USPS is still in business because of Amazon. If I owned Amazon right now I would change how they did business, and would use everyone except for the USPS. |
