This says there are several steps that must be followed. Yes, nobody has the "legal" authority to stop him, but there are several people in between Trump and the actual triggering mechanism that fires the missile. They could simply refuse to carry out the order. As mentioned in the piece I link to, if we were launching 50 missiles, one person not going through with it wouldn't do much but stop one missile. However, if were were only firing a few, it could be effective.

My point in all of this is that Trump doesn't just have a switch he can flip and start firing missiles. If he wakes up one day pissed off at South Africa and wants to nuke them there are people who could physically stop him from doing it. They might be breaking the law to stop him but they could.

You might be right about his emotional problems. A huge problem with kids at orphanages, particularly in shit countries is that they don't emphasize human contact and nurturing with infants. What happens is that the babies and children don't learn to regulate emotions through the process of someone comforting them and talking them down, explaining things to them etc.... but instead, a universal trait of the human brain is that when it is forced to self regulate emotions, it basically shuts down and puts the individual in a sort of waking coma. Neuroscientists actually compare it to a sort of paralysis.

This is commonly in troubled kids (say 4-5 yrs to teens) where they will be acting out and then when they are in trouble, they sort of shut down completely and you start asking questions, asking if they understand you or whatever and they are 100% unresponsive, staring at the floor or off into space no matter what you do or say. So you end up with this imbalance of not understanding how to act correctly and constantly throwing fits or engaging in negative attention seeking behaviors and acting out like whiny little bitches from a 3rd world, east european chicken farm. with no ability to put the brakes on, reflect and learn from it etc. and approach a subject from a more well reasoned and open minded position.

Further, the lack of human warmth, contact and proper social interactions these kids suffer through often severely retards brain development.
