Amazon and the USPS do not really have a "deal"

UPS and Fedex has the deal with Amazon, and they in return pay the USPS to deliver packages for them.

my business ships a very large number of packages on a daily basis. I've got reps with every carrier and they all compete for my business. I buy business supplies routinely from amazon and well as being an amazon seller. I'm very familiar with labels and NONE of the labels on packages I receive or ship have multi carrier tracking SKUs on them.

Also.. If you were such a large shipper, the supplies would be sent to you free of charge. There would not be any need to buy your supplies through Amazon.

I did not say that they did the shipping. I said that the transport, sorting, and delivery to the post office (okay I didnt really say that) is done by UPS and Fedex. The USPS is paid to deliver the "last mile"

Yes, I am very familiar with "last mile" delivery. and UPS has nothing to do with it. Surepost is rarely used mostly because it's so unreliable.


Amazon ships the packages to USPS themselves, who delivers last mile, UPS it not involved.

It GOES through them. I never said it didnt. I am saying that the logistics of getting it to the post office is not done by them.

it does not really matter...all the carrier services will lose amazon as a customer soon...amazon is all about cutting out everybody else...most amazon top sellers get shafted by amazon because amazon goes directly to the supplier for the goods and sells them themselves...they basically made an "uber" for goods deliver and are planning automated delivery vehicles...

I agree that the SUREPOST system is very unreliable but in this state ( Maine ) you are incorrect about Amazon delivering Surepost directly to USPS. Here UPS deliver to the local USPS offices and they (USPS) then do the local deliverys, which will add a day or more to the so called guaranteed Prime two day deliverys

I didn't state that. I stated that's it's not accurate to claim ups does 99% of the work for USPs.
I go with the reported research which shows sure post accounts for less than 9% of Amazon shipping. You can't really think that 99% of the work is done by carriers who charge 2x as much, when USPS has package logistics, it's otr amazon trucks to USPs, sure post adds days to shipping times, and there is rarely usually never packages with multi carrier shipping labels.

the 40% saves costs for USPS.
if there are 6 packages to deliver to one street it costs nearly the same time and gasoline as when they deliver 10 packages.

after bezos have fulfilled trump´s "wish" and does not "rob" the USPS system anymore every american will pay more or wait longer for deliveries.
