So cool there are other nomads here! Thats how my business partner and I got into the affiliate industry. We were working remotely for a large company for a while, and travelled for over a year. Then layoffs hit, and we decided to to use our web skills to run our own sites.
We're still working on building our sites to the point where we're totally free to do this, but we're getting closer little by little. As others have said, if you're willing to rough it a bit, you can live well on not much money! It also helps to be a young person in good health with zero responsibilities :thumbsup I'm from the U.S., but I'm currently in Mexico until mid-November. |

How big are these 2? Haven't you been questionned at the airport for them? Are you a graphic designer or something like that? (I ask for curiosity, because of the huge screens) I do travel with 1 laptop and 3 hardrives only. |
the 3 monitor + mechanical keyboard guy is the man...why work on a shitty small screen and type on a shitty laptop keyboard?
he can still take a laptop and work on the beach, nobody is stopping him... |
Why have large monitors?
For me the answer is, I'm a programmer, a designer, a writer, a manager, an SEO specialist, a part owner, a developer, etc... So I have usually 10 windows of chrome with about 4-15 tabs each. Each window is focused on one of my skill sets from above. Tabs are for employees work sheets, programming sites, developed sites, etc. I also have Dreamweaver, Photoshop, many metapads, nifty stats, windows live writer, many putty, color cop, Excel, word, and usually 3-10 more programs running at once. I am constantly switching from program to program it window to window of chrome. So much easier when you have screen real estate! With an extra monitor or two I can get everything I need to do done in four hours. Without them it would be a gruelling 8+ hours. Fuck that! My wife and I travel often, but not nearly as much as we'd like. Just waiting for the last chick to leave the nest. She's currently in her third year of college for a major in business administration with a lean towards accounting. My biggest decision will be to hire her or not. Not sure I want my family knowing what daddy does for a living. I'll have to look into the ultra thin USB monitors rochard is using. Bulky 24" monitors aren't fun to lug around so I often don't take them. |

Nice shit man, I had always wanted to be a nomad. But I got a young daughter so that's not gonna be happening.
Instead I just take plenty of vacations with her and the doggo. |
New pics coming soon..
