The same van was apparently caught on camera and posted on twitter a year ago.

Vinyl stands up pretty well to sunshine. A good quality vinyl can take up to 5 years or so before there is noticeable fading.

And apparently, the pics showing the full side of the van were actually taken back in April. I found that in a reference to them but have not found solid proof so don't know for sure it is true.
