The republicans gained seats in the senate. That's only happened a couple of times in the past century.

ilnjscb 11-07-2018 06:00 PM

All these stupid personal attacks and threats aside, it simply was a bad night for republicans. They gained 3 senators, but lost 34 (!!) seats in the House and 7 governors. There is no way this is a win and no one who is reasonable really thinks it is. I don't say this because I generally vote democrat, I say it because it is true.

But you spin this however you need to in order to make yourself feel better.

Obama fucked the house with his shitty leadership and took away a lot of the bite from them. Trump told them if they push for more investigation on him, he would return the favor.

Every president that has had a Congress controlled by their party since ww2 has lost it in the mid terms and then got reelected. So it's a win for the Republicans as they now have more seats in the Senate and can confirm conservative justices much easier! So I call bullshit

You must've missed the Supreme Court upholding the bans.. Large portions of the wall is already funded and several contracts awarded already.. When the House passes a budget it's sent to the Senate for their addons/approval. New acting AG said he "would" have indicted Hillary... So we shall see..

You're entitled to your opinion, of course

Republicans lost 6 state Governors.. They lost 27 seats in the House on top of the 30+ they lost after 2016 in special elections..

The only wins Republicans had was a net gain of 2 seats in the Senate and somehow in their fanastyland of unicorns and Nazis on rainbows they think this was some Red Wave..

:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

We should stop calling them "the deplorables" and call them "the fucking delusionals"..

To add insult to injury Democrats picked up 17 seats in Texas state house.. :1orglaugh

But..but.. it's all fake news!! Meanwhile Trump Jr indictment getting severed soon.. and Democrats will now ass rape Trump from the House.. but..but..but #winning!

of the 100 senate seats in the US, 65 of them WERE NOT up for election

of those 65, 42 of them were republican. 23 were democrat.

That means that of the 35 available seats, democrats would have needed to take 29/35 (that's 82 fucking percent of the contested seats) in order to have a majority

Out of the 32 contested seats that have announced results, Republicans took a paltry 9 of them (that's 28%). They got absolutely demolished. Literally lost almost 3/4 of the contested seats, and you're making this thread acting like it was a major victory? FUCK YOU, you fucking asshole

Democrats never had any chance to retake the senate.

Fuck you, fuck your rhetoric. You can suck my dick. I have half a mind to DDOS your ass

I'd have some choice words with you if I ran into you IRL. Watch yourself.

Realistically, what can the House do besides run some dog and pony show investigations?

This was indeed a very big victory for Republicans. They saw the risk of losing the House at the midterms and got the most important things accomplished in the first two years. Keeping the senate is huge for Trump. That's going to probably be worth one more supreme justice of His absolute choosing.
