The republicans gained seats in the senate. That's only happened a couple of times in the past century.

All these stupid personal attacks and threats aside, it simply was a bad night for republicans. They gained 3 senators, but lost 34 (!!) seats in the House and 7 governors. There is no way this is a win and no one who is reasonable really thinks it is. I don't say this because I generally vote democrat, I say it because it is true.

Realistically, what can the House do besides run some dog and pony show investigations?
This was indeed a very big victory for Republicans. They saw the risk of losing the House at the midterms and got the most important things accomplished in the first two years. Keeping the senate is huge for Trump. That's going to probably be worth one more supreme justice of His absolute choosing. |
