Gotcha. Always better off running your own platform if possible.

Porn should be limited to porn sites, sites which have been established for adults.

But those sites do exist and the tumblr userbase chose tumblr instead.

Why do you think that is?

SEO & flexibility is the only reason aside from millions of fake accounts to boost user ego via fake follows & likes

That's incorrect.

A minority of the Tumblr user base chose that instead and the majority of porn on Tumblr has been put there using automation by people promoting porn.

There is a minority user network of human Tumblr users who share explicit images on Tumblr, about half of it self produced. The rest is spam, automated posting, porn site promotion and reposting.

Out of more than 95 million Tumblr top level pages indexed approximately 16 million of them contain explicit content.

exactly...

even social media like face book, Gary is linked to a gtr forum in there, and still people put up porn pics or compare this ass to this ass, obvious a girl and gtr...

our friends are always looking for porn pics, by submitting smutty bikini shots and saying where else can i see pics like this but nude etc etc...

people want porn, tumblr may as well close shop now if pulling out of porn!

Really? I think Tumblr is better off losing the porn (most of which is spam) and regaining the trust of it's majority user base who don't share porn or reblog porn.

Tumblrs old base that wanted porn gone, left, and went to Pinterest.

Tumblr wants to get in Google's good graces again and take back it's serps place from Pinterest. The only way to do that is get rid of porn.

One interesting thing to come out of this is seeing Tumblr try to use automated moderation tools so badly.

I think those automated flags are used as traps.

yea i heard that mentioned by a few peeps.. twitter recently spent a lot of time sorting out adult content and cleaning fake accounts, i can't imagine they'd just shut it down after years of steps towards cleaning it up

Content drives traffic, you would think after 20 years online some of you would have got the message. Do people crawl Tumblr for porn articles? Do people ask Search Engines for links to porn sites?

So no porn on Tumblr means no traffic from Search Engines who will send the traffic elsewhere. Which means it will all even out in the end all you have to do is a bit of work moving your articles.

We should focus in moving our "articles" off Tumblr?

I'm talking about real people. Not bots.

And not everyone uploads exclusively. There are feeds on there with huge followers that are mostly reblogs. They aren't bot account rebloggers either. It's humans curating their own collections in addition to their uploads. It's a nice way to pad out a blog with quality filler that helps get users excited to follow your feed.

There hasn't been a viable adult industry alternative to tumblr for users, be it affiliates/paysites or surfers.

It's interesting that the change.org petition for Tumblr to reverse their decision has many females posting to it.

I've known some girls are even greater porn freaks than men . . .

rogueteens 12-04-2018 01:33 PM

there is always Ello instead

CamTraffic 12-04-2018 03:14 PM

The more family friendly your content, the easier it is to attract advertisers.

I probably have over 200k followers total now but to be honest it was so easy getting them. The whole thing is on autopilot.

I think most people prefer a context for sexuality, but women, on average, even moreso. The idea that sex should be locked away from everything else in society is just icky.

I think more women than men browse Tumblr for erotic content.

AdultKing 12-05-2018 01:09 AM

The effect of the Tumblr decision can already be seen in web crawl statistics.

In the past 24 hours more than 90,000 Tumblr porn related blogs now return 404. Which means they've gone completely. So either people are exiting the platform voluntarily or Tumblr are purging blogs - impossible to know.
