I'm TELLING you...Tillerson says that now. But somehow, Mike Pompeo is doing everything that Trump has asked. Now how can that be if it's "AGAINST THE LAW"? Answer...because it never was. Tillerson doesn't specify anything. He just said that in general. And as I pointed out...Pompeo IS getting it done. Typical sour grapes from a disgruntled employee who couldn't get this particular job done. It's really just that simple. Tillerson is an incredibly talented and smart person. But it turned out that diplomacy was not his forte. If you remember...CNN, MSNBC, the NY Times, Washingon Post and all of those other anti-Trump media outlets were attacking Tillerson the entire time he was Secretary Of State and commenting on how ineffective he was. But now that he says something that casts Trump in a bad light? They love the guy. I'm not falling for their bullshit. And neither should you. Tillerson was bad at the job. It's just that simple. Somehow it was "AGAINST THE LAW" to do what Trump wanted done in diplomacy when Tillerson was there...but now it's perfectly legal and damn effective with Pompeo? I believe Tillerson just didn't understand Trump's vision and therefore was reluctant to do much. Pompeo on the other hand seems to fit the job of Secretary Of State. |

All that said, you have to admit having the POTUS and the former Sec. State calling each other names on Twitter is terrible form and makes us look bad. Every president has multiple cabinet turnovers. The difference is the other presidents didn't then call their former staffers dumb as a rock in front of the world. |

The Trump administration is going all out for Saudi Arabia, who just brutally murdered an American journalist, sliced his body up into little pieces, dropping him in acid, and then pouring him down the drain. So glad Pompeo is handling the Russian Ukraine thing. That seems to be working out well for everyone. Then you have Pompeo handling North Korea. LOL. That's going well. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...h-counterparts Then you have this non sense.... https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlo...=.d1ed9b805d0a This is how it works.... Shortly after someone leaves Trump trashes them saying they were horrible, while his base places all of their hope in the new guy. Eventually the new guy becomes the old guy and gets forced out, Trump trashes him, and... rinse and repeat. Robbie doesn't seem to understand he drank the kool aid and he believes everything. In his world, Trump is doing great. Pompeo isn't doing great; He is doing horrible. He has accomplished nothing. Nothing at all. |

In Febraury 2018 Exxon Mobil cancelled the deal because Tillerson couldn't get the sanctions removed. In March 2018 Tillerson was fired as Secretary of State. Exxon Mobil Scraps a Russian Deal, Stymied by Sanctions Putin isn't getting a lot of what he wanted from Trump as POTUS. I'm guessing Putin is going to start acting out soon. |

So there's no need for me to answer that for you. But even Bob Woodward had to admit in Sept. of this year that Trump is doing a LOT in foreign policy: https://www.washingtonpost.com/opini...ca 1c5c61c2f2 That is from the Trump-hating Washington Post. You can choose to educate yourself on it or not. I would say...go ahead and open your eyes. You can find out that Trump is kicking ass and STILL hate him at the same time. The two aren't mutually exclusive. |

Don't say things you are incapable of backing up that's trashy and intellectually dishonest. |
I'm not really sure why all the Anti-Trump people here are wanting to take this thread down into the weeds.
The original post is a question of is Trump "imploding". He's not. Cohen did. Tillerson did. Trump is busy relentlessly doing the things he promised in the campaign. Politically you can hate what he is doing. I like what he's doing. I like having a strong economy. I like that he is trying to stop China from stealing intellectual property. I like that he is stopping other countries from fucking us on trade. I like what he's done for the veterans. I like what he's doing for our Energy sector. If you don't...fine. :) But to believe the nonsense that CNN and other anti-Trump media outlets are theorizing about is not reality. Take issues and argue what you would rather see done. Argue what Hillary would have done. Argue what the Democrat nominee in 2020 should campaign on. Those are real discussions. All of the talk of what people in power are "thinking" or "feeling" is purely speculative and a waste of time. |

Hopefully you'll excuse me wanting to keep a human element here and keep the thread from devolving.
Robbie is an intelligent person who arrives at his opinions honestly. I may disagree with some things he says, but I respect him. Many of you are intelligent people, and though you have strong opinions, I'm trying to get to real information. I appreciate everyone who tried to answer. Very similar to my thread re: House seats, you can see a bit of crowd-sourced wisdom here. The edges are clear, and the center becomes clear. Thanks everyone. |

Both the Palestinians and the North Koreans are pretty much not even talking to us right now. Mother Russia is now seizing ships and kidnapping Ukrainians and we are doing nothing about it. Then of course we have the Saudis who are killing journalists who work for American companies and the State Department seems perfectly fine with that. We are also engaged a massive trade war with China that is damaging our economy for no reason.... Not to mention all of our allies are pissed at us. So again, Robbie, what exactly has Trump and Pompeo accomplished? |

Trump is weak. The weakest president I have seen in my lifetime. |

What has Pompeo accomplished that Tillerson could not do ? You, not me, is claiming many brillant accomplishements... Should be easy to list à few, no ? |
Lmao
Trump sucks so bad Robbie had to use a vague article from a news source he calls fake any other time to try and save face... And still couldn't save face. |

Syria..... Trump has done nothing and followed Obama's plan. Israel.... Moved embassy, pissing off the entire Muslim world. Palestinians refuse to even talk to us. Afghanistan..... Moved more troops in after promising to wind down. Still no change after seventeen years. Turkey.... What has done with Turkey? Other than pissing them off with this Saudi Arabia murder? Russia.... Trump has taken a hard line on Russia? Since when? Right now Russia is bitch smacking Ukraine around, and other than sending a single ship the US hasn't done anything. North Korea.... LOL. Trump gave the leader of NK a spot on the center stage and then they turned around and increased missile production. Now they don't even talk to us. Again, another list of things Trump has done is completely and utter wrong. |

At some point you have to educate yourself. I am not responsible for any willfull ignorance on your part about that subject. And again...what you are asking (and I supplied you with the link to the answer) has nothing to do with the thread topic (which is whether Trump is "imploding" or not) I also very clearly said that Tillerson said what Trump wanted to do was "illegal" and therefore he did nothing at all...and yet Pompeo is following Trump's directives and carrying them out with no problem One guy couldn't do the job. One guy is doing the job. That is the bottom line. |

When Robbie is backed into a corner with facts like yours he usually ignores the post or brushes it off as the person with all the facts is brainwashed :2 cents: |
Will never know what Pompeo accomplished for Trump that Tillerson couldn't do :(:(

Quote:
On one hand you had Tillerson who was ineffective (that's according to CNN, MSNBC, WAPO, the NY Times and other liberal media outlets). And then he claims that he couldn't do anything because what Trump wanted to do diplomatically was "illegal". First off...how the hell can diplomacy be "illegal"??? That's what the Secretary Of State is you know. The lead DIPLOMAT of the United States. But fast forward to now: Trump is happy with Pompeo. I linked you to all the big foreign policy accomplishments (which you STILL claim you didn't look at and therefore you "Will never know"). So if what Trump wanted was "illegal" (for a diplomat...wtf) and Tillerson couldn't do any of it and Trump fired him...then WHY is Pompeo able to fulfill Trump's foreign policy initiatives with no problems? That's my point. Tillerson is full of shit. As I said before...Tillerson is a brilliant and mega successful guy. But being Secretary Of State with Donald Trump as President was a total failure for him. The two of them didn't seem to ever warm up to each other. It was reported that Tillerson had called Trump a "fucking moron" while working for him. Obviously Tillerson had a different vision of foreign policy than his boss, The President, did. So it didn't work. But "illegal"??? I think the fact that Pompeo is getting the things done is proof that Tillerson is giving his own opinion of why he was ineffective. Now you can either LOOK at that Washington Post article (since you are ignorant of world affairs and have no idea what Trump has accomplished in foreign policy) and educate yourself...OR, you can just keep posting that you have no idea of it and keep looking dumb. |

My answer is yes... but ask again in 30 days.
It will be interesting to see if anyone has a change of heart. Nobody will work for him. What quality person will put themselves through that ? I really don't care what the reasons are for it, but you rely on other skillful folks to get it done. If you can't get'm, where does that leave you ? I think that most will realize that within those next 30 days. I will say and give 'some' credit for trade as it pertains to China, but will that cost more than it's worth in the end ? Only time will answer that in perhaps a year or more. I think it was a bit to aggressive. But I also think once his tax returns are out there... it's over for him in every sense of the word. That too is a matter of time. Not if but when. |

Robbie is a great example of what the problem is.... He firmly believes Trump is doing great, but cannot back it up with any thing.
We are now two years into Trump's administration and other than a massive tax cut for the rich he has nothing to show for it. Not a single thing is done. In the Middle East the Palestinians won't even talk to us, they haven't done anything about the opioid crisis, the computer issues with the VA are getting worse, North Korea is enlarging their missile program, the Russians are physically walking all over Ukraine, we have a trade war with China and American businesses are shutting down.... Of course this doesn't even get into how the Trump administration is knee deep in the largest investigation since Watergate which threatens to impeach Trump. How do people not see this? |
