Every building site I was ever on was more than 50% Irish.
What happened in the UK is also happening in Spain.. the trades have been poopoo'd for the last 30 years everyone wants to go to university.
But that caused a massive shortage in skilled labour, again not the EU's fault, more a fault of the UK gov.

Fruit and veg pickers will be allowed in under short term work visas. Coffee shops will have to pay the market rate for labour or go out of business.
You are right about the drive to send millions to university and ignore the trades. UK Gov are the idiots who can be blamed for starting that stupid idea. Here in Czech 16 year olds are enrolled in trade schools unless very clever in which case they go onto grammar school. |
