Also because of who his father was he was allowed to crash as many planes as he wanted. He wouldn't even try to land them.. He'd just eject and let it crash.. With ZERO regard to who or what it might crash into.. He was also allowed to hop on a helicopter and go on a drunken and drugged awol binge for several weeks. He was planning on "not returning" from this binge.. As in, he was just going to walk away from the military.... Meanwhile his shipmates (some of whom died) limped back to shore after what may have very well been an accident that he caused. (some claim it was his fault because he was showing off) This is after he was seen hiding and crying (because he knew it was his fault) while his shipmates put out fires and picked up the pieces of their fellow shipmates.

A real hero.

Same here. He was on the other side of the fence to me politically, but he was smart, and I think he cared for the country. He went through a shitload of stuff and still came out on top, and live a good long life right until the end. Anyone who can't say that about him, even if they disagree with him, is one sad individual.

It's stunning some people believe they cannot trust the "mainstream media". Just the thought of it is stunning. Mainstream media IS the news media; It's the ONLY news media. Anything that is not mainstream media is "fringe". It's not verified. It's biased.

I don't view dealing with Russians to help take down their own spies and expose our administration for crimes as "colluding". Colluding is done for harmful purposes.

Onwebcam is a dorkus supremis for, in the same damn post, saying Hillary 100% colluded with Russia on a fake dossier...

And I might get flack for this, but as far as mainstream media goes, aljazeera is about as balanced as it gets. Straight shooters. No left/right bias.

From the time I was a very young man and a ham radio op, I listened to many world broadcast stations including radio moscow (in english) and found I could somewhat always see the political slant of stories when you listen to multiple perspectives.
I was quite surprised when they started aljazeera broadcast in english as it was not as I expected it to be.

I'm not saying that none of it has a slant, but never confuse a slant with a disagreement to what is being said. Sometimes you have to take a pause to be sure what it is that may bother you about a story. I would listen to news from around the world as I tapped out computer code in long stretches in the 80's and 90's.

Most fair media will at least point out how this is being viewed by those that oppose.
And that particular point is very telling.
Sometime after the gulf war 2, I stopped listening to those short wave broadcasts.
There were not many left and the internet had provided me with many more sources from my ham radio contacts throughout the world when they got the net in their country for a better perspective first hand. I have developed good relationships with many types of people all around the world and all the better for it.

I had been well experienced at discriminating garbage on the net since I have been one of those very early and very active birds to the internet. Not saying I seen it all as it continues to surprise me everyday.
I believe my first connection was in 83/84 when it was purely a command line operation.
Still is, just the browser gui does it for you.
Anyway, just pointing out how my thinking came to be with a little perspective.

Most folks I know who came into the net at age 35 or older at year 2000 & later are a bit more gullible for the BS. I can't figure that one out.

But always listen to it all. Improve your BS filter cause most things that are not right just don't make sense. Sometimes being smart is just a matter of being able to say things in a way folks can understand. Just make sure you know the difference. Sounding smart does not make them correct. The fewer life experiences you have, the smaller your BS filter.
