oh nooooooo....2-3 trolls said something after the west unloaded 25.000bombs/year on their countries and turned them in to rubble and war zones...we all know the 3rd world should be waving bomb dropper flags 24/7 to thank them for the war and destruction....how insensitive of the trolls to even have an opinion...

Trump suggests Paris firefighters need "flying water tankers" to fight blaze at Notre Dame

President Trump just tweeted about the fire at the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris, France, and suggested "flying water tankers" could help put it out.

"Must act quickly!" Trump tweeted.

Someone needs to censor his tweets. Flying water tankers are useful for forest fires, not building fires.

I didn't like a lot of things Obama did but you are so right the way he handled himself with class was one thing I miss.

No, and I will admit I was wrong and it appears it might have been an accident. I made that comment very early on and I didn't know it had 500 tons of 850-year-old wood inside. As I watched the news I learned more and I agree that it was most likely an accident.

I heard a news source that said if it turns out to be a construction fire it will be ironic that it stood for 852 but fell due to $6.5mil renovations.

Leave it to some GFYers to turn ANY topic into 1) a conspiracy theory, 2) politics, 3) racism, 4) anger and hate towards each other, 5) a pissing match, 6) "my side vs your side", 7) being armchair experts at any profession, 8) distortion of the facts

Feel free to add anything missing and/or take a moment to self-reflect on where all of this anger is coming from. ;)

Thank you, good example why it is important to have facts first and not speculate.

And reading this thread today shows once again in what kind of cesspool the owners have let this board turn.

They do when the whole thing is tinder dry decaying wood with oils rubbed in over the centuries to protect it.

Add that to a few 100 years of pigeon shit, feathers.

Construction work was up on the roof, not inside.

Every time Chump opens his uneducated cake hole he confirms to the world what a moron he is. Dropping tons of water on a building would have collapsed the stone walls of the church, this was confirmed by American fire fighters just after he made the moronic comment!

Busty2 04-16-2019 06:20 AM

It's very sad to see so much great craftsmanship destroyed, craftsmanship that took many years to complete wiped out in just 9 hours. I visited the cathedral every time i was in Paris and every time it was an inspiration to see the amazing carvings and intricate stained glass windows. At least France still has some amazing artisans, people who can still produce works of art by traditional methods, although i am sure modern scanning techniques, 3D printing and CNC machines will be used to speed up the process. To that end they already have more than half a billion in donations to help with the rebuild. :thumbsup
