The entire abortion debate is a really tricky one for me.

On rights: I think that a woman has the right to choose abortion. I also believe that all men should stay-out of the discussion.

On politics: I suspect that those with a political agenda are sticking their noses where it doesn't belong. Religious nutters will vote for politicians who make abortion illegal.

On science: If 9 months is too late to abort, then what is too late? 8 months? 6 months? 1 month? What is the science behind the decision and why?

Science & Philosophy (it gets blurry here). Who we are, is defined by our brain. A person is a person because of our brain. Can we think at 1 year old? On the day we are born? At month 6? At month 1? At which point does the first brain cell become a brain? When it splits into 2 cells? At what point does this group of cells become a thinking person?

And is it necessary to define a difference between a person, and a potential person?

I can easily say that Sperm is not a person, and an egg is not a person, or potential person. But when the swimmer hits his target and cells start dividing, a person begins growing. So then is aborting that person, murder?

I wouldn't be so annoyed by pro-life people if they would also support large scale birth control and sex education initiatives and also worked to set up things to help these kids when they are born. But, of course, that doesn't happen.

Their thought it people can just wait to have sex until they are married which, clearly throughout the entire history of man, doesn't work.

I think it is fair to legislate that once the fetus is capable of life on it's own, it is a life.
But you have to take religion out of the equation.

The thing that separates us from many parts of the middle east is that we do not rule by religion (or at least say we don't) and that my friends is exactly what the founding fathers of this country meant when they created a separation of church and state.

That's why I have a problem with these male feminists that say a man shouldn't have any say in this. I mean, why? It's just as much as his baby as it is hers.
