So as an American can't you just stay in a place 90 days, move on, do all your banking from an ATM and online? No need to "move" anywhere. Or am I missing something?

That is how it works for most nationalities, depending on your passport. Some countries allow longer like Mexico (6 months) and you can leave few days and come back another 6 months. In Thailand they are now more strict on visa runs the last years. Mexico is one of the easiest countries to stay longer.

Yes we talked about Jamaica. Should have had a beer there in Ocho Rios. I had a nice appartment there on the hill with views at the cruise ships. But i travelled a lot and Jamaica is on the bottom of my list. I prefer Brazil way more than Jamaica. Could also because a tourist trap and i might look like an American tourist.
