Over 3 millions of Ukrainians have died. Over 3 millions of central Russians have died. Over 1 millions of Kazakhs have died. Over 5.42% of Soviet Union people have died. So what? What do you want to say with you post? Why don't you consider Russia as the most affected nation? Only the Georgian Republic has not suffered. How come? |

Skip it at 0:38 mark and listen how a native Ukrainian guy from Kiev (the president of the country BTW) says "KIEV". He clearly says "Keeyf" with an "F" at the end. Any questions? |

Though there may be many ways to say it, and hear it, Zelensky says "Kee'eef" and that is what I'd vote for, as a non-native. |

And stop all these talks about the Ukraine as a different nation. For many centuries it was called Malorossia (Rossia means Russia in Russian) - it literally translates as a small Russia. Belorussia is also a Russian word. It means "White Russia". The Moscow Russia was called the Great Russia. So all those nations are Russian. They are different countries, but the people who live there are the same. They may hate each other, but genetically and ethnically the are the same people. |

Also, Ukraine is too diverse to speak about "Ukrainians and Ukraine" as a one entity that is like this or that. But I may assure about one thing comrade - thanks to government of your country, these days, THE AVERAGE Ukrainian and MAJORITY of Ukrainians, when asked what they think about Russia and maybe even Russians, they express their discontent about it. Not like before, where the sentiment was the opposite. So you may thank your government for that :thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup Its brilliant actions made Russia losing Ukraine for a very long time, if not for forever :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh The war for Ukrainian soul is lost for Russia :1orglaugh:1orglaugh |

https://ic.pics.livejournal.com/svir...2_original.jpg So I really don't understand when a Polish guy tells me something about Russia. Your country has pretended to the Russian territory and you were fucked in the most dirty way. You even been a part of Russian Empire. Your were been a part of Soviet military block. Now you are get used as a whore by NATO. Tell me please when Poland will become a real country with it's own army? Non-Russian. Non-American. Your fucking own army, ah? A country of slaves. |

Please, don't make this thread political, I just wanted to clarify why there is a lot of dialog about it. We used to think it was KEE-eyuv. Now people on TV are saying KEEV because they don't really know anything about Ukraine at all, and couldn't find it on a map if their balls were in a vice. I had a suspicion it was just the way American ears were hearing it, and I believe I was correct. So thanks CyberSEO and everyone else who contributed. All that other Russia stuff we have to get a bottle of vodka and talk it out at some later date. |
Nothing political here. I just say that Ukrainians are ethnic Russians. Russians from Moscow are much closer to Poles, while Eastern Russians from Siberia are close to Mongols. This is how Russia was extended to the East:
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...i_Yermakom.jpg It was done the same way as America was conquered by Europeans. Russians don't want to speak about this part of their history, but in fact it's the most biggest country on planet Earth and it's so big because Russians were the most warlike nation. |
