Because you live in some shitty houses that can be blown away by a wind. Why don't you build houses from reinforced concrete if you live in a hurricane area? Isn't it an obvious solution?

Thankfully I live in a brick home and so did some of the people that had their property leveled. When a tornado produces winds of 200 MPH+ there is not much that it will not destroy in it's path. We don't live in a common area for tornados. This is a once in a 100 year storm that came through.

Thanks InfoGuy. The kids go back to school today. My little ones have friends and families in the direct path of the storm. It's good for them to get back on their routines but so sad when you hear a child talk about their concern for their friends.
