In fact they are not. My city is much safer than yours. Much more corrupted? Yes of course. But not a gangsta place for sure. |
Our goal was to move to Hawaii. We have a small condo in Honolulu which we've been renting out. The kid was going to go off to college and we were going to rent out the house here and move to Hawaii. Kid went off to college and... came back a few months later. (She's enrolled to a local college and staying at home with us, which is fine.)
I know it's not "expat" but... might as well be. And much safer. |

Moscow is very huge. It's the largest city in the whole West World. It's larger than some countries. And here everyone can find just everything... Want a safe and silent old life? It's here. Want night clubs, restaurants and pubs? They are here. Want supper-duper shows and concerts? They are here - even Metallica will sing for you in Russian (for real). Are you a gun shooter? The World's largest shooting range is here. Want sex? Pay $100 for the entrance and have 10's (literally) of super hot girls (not hookers - you pays $100 for shows, security guards and the internal infrastructure) for a night if your health can handle so many ;) Need a good medicine? It's here and it will cost you 10 times less than in the USA. There is such a thing like a medical tourism. Don't want high taxes? Here you will pay 6% officially. IRL you won't pay anything (there is no prison time for tax evasion, so people just don't pay taxes ;)). Wanna good food (you see there are not many fat people in Russia)? We have it. Course if you want KFC, MacDonald's or other shit, you will find it here as well. Man, even a California sushi roll is much better in Moscow than in LA (I've tried 'em here and there). Even Japan people say we do them better than... in Japan. And Moscow never sleeps. Watch this video (I insist ;)). It's a Russian White House: |
I went from Vegas to the Netherlands... Rotterdam actually... I wouldn't move to Amsterdam unless you are looking for expensive, overpriced homes in the city centre and want to be bombarded with stoned tourists from Italy and the UK.
Rotterdam and Den Hague are much less touristy and affordable. As Vegas is about half of what LA is, the same is true of Rotterdam and Den Hague. I'd probably recommend Den Hague over Rotterdam just because it survived WW2 very well. There's a more old-world feeling to Den Hague. Rotterdam is all modern architecture since the Nazis firebombed the entire city. As for ease of living... everyone here speaks English, and they do so freely so its easy to acclimate. Public transportation is excellent. You can easily get around using it. With that, a bike, your legs and Uber you don't need a car. Health insurance is 1/10 of the price in the US. I went from $1400 a month to $160 a month. And one thing no one is discussing... getting residency status is not easy in any non-third world country. I looked into Italy first... its almost impossible to get a permanent residency permit. The Italian govt made it difficult to stop the immigrants being dropped off on their shores. Its easy to get residency for 7 yrs here as an American through DAFT. With a lawyer its about a $10,000 investment, without $7500 Here's a step-by-step guide... https://daftvisa.wordpress.com/step-by-step-guide/ |

And on top of that it's a gigantic city that will suck you dry, like all big cities anywhere. But that's just my personal taste. |

This is a little geographical lesson to you my young friend. Now about the other point. Everyone knows how much investments Russia has made to the Western culture, technologies etc. Need examples? Can you find Poland somewhere in the Western history? In its ass maybe... Quote:
I believe you can understand Russian... |

The only thing: basic knowledge of the Russian language needed... |

A name of one guy who worked with me was John Walker. For real :) P.S. Special for the guys like EddyTheDog. Don't listen anyone about anti-gay propaganda here. Moscow have more gay clubs than your whole country :Graucho |
You would have to pay me a lot of money to live in Russia.
I’ve worked with Russians for 20 years and wouldn’t want to live with them 😂😂😂 hottest women in the world though! So maybe a vacation home? |
I left the USA years ago, I lived in Mexico for a about 7 years and now Im in between Mexico and Colombia. I only go back to USA 2 or 3 times a year to visit family. I couldnt be happier. USA life is just boring to me, but thats just my opinion. ALSO lost 100lbs since leaving without even trying. So thats a bonus. :thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup

Russians are great people. Great food great culture but there are elements of their society that I could never live with. |
Cabarete Beach, Dominican Republic. It's a fairly relaxed town, great food and nightlife, 30 minutes out from a bigger city, Puerto Plata. Over leveraged airbnb owners are going to go belly up real fast, fire sales are already happening now with both villas and condos.

BTW in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_c...ture=emb_title She says that here everybody gives you change. That's absolutely true. But I'll tell you more... If you are go to a supermarket and have less money than needed. You'll be told like "ok, pay the difference next time". They don't have your ID's etc. It's just the next time you will pay it because... I don't know. Because you forgot to pay it before. Or a supermarket has some super-duper discount card. Don't worry. When you are standing in a line, someone behind you will give you his card to save 10% or something like that. |

Check the comments of the people who've been here. Russia in the Hollywood movies and Russia in real are two different worlds. Quote:

I already travel 9 years and stay everywhere minimum 1 month till 1 year.
My plan was to explore Panama this year, Bocas del Toro and near San Blas Islands. And looking into France, Spain and Portugal if the world stays crazy and i want to stay in Europe. Mexico is also good for a few months a year. Countries i could live, Brazil where everything is getting cheaper and cheaper cause of the fail of Brazilian Real. But also a country you want to be able to leave whenever the shit hits the fan. But i think i stay travelling hopping from beach to beach and stay a few weeks/months. Don't want to live longer than 1 month in a big city. I prefer quiet beaches and islands. |
