I've got around 30-40% more traffic for all domains since 4 days ago, It scares me, Because based on my experience it won't last, My domains ranking would fall off pretty soon.

247mg 05-08-2020 05:37 PM

Its hurts big time hope all settle down soon and we get back to where we were..... google dance is still going on

xxify 05-08-2020 09:51 PM

So far no change for me

The Porn Nerd 05-08-2020 10:22 PM

Last week: almost a record week in sales/revenue.
This week: absolute shit show, everything down 40%.

The Internet Giveth and The Internet Taketh Away...:(

Look Chang 05-09-2020 04:07 AM

Traffic up 25% on my sites :2 cents:

Advolk 05-09-2020 05:15 AM

Hello! Does anyone use Clodflare?
After the server load surge, traffic on my site dropped. The hosting provider recommends using services like Clodflare. Is this related to the Google Core Algorithm Update? This is the first time I have encountered such a situation.

Dreamteam 05-09-2020 05:25 AM

Guys come out of your bubble. Not everyone will recover from this shuffle.

The traffic you may have received from Google for years is not yours.

Some think that the traffic they have sometimes received from Google for years is theirs and belongs to their site by now.

Some now take it for granted that they get that traffic. They don't do anything about the site anymore nor do they provide more linkjuice. Why would they do that? Everything is perfect, right?

They now feel robbed by the sites where all that traffic goes today. Of course it is not.

And yes it hurts when you wake up one morning and find that 50% of your traffic is gone (and with it 50% of your income).

But not everyone can do well in google.

It hurts, I understand that, but that's just the way it is.

My tip: Never stop improving your site and strengthening your SEO. Never think you are already there.

Hope all turns out well for all of you

All the beste, cheers

With the details you provided it's impossible to tell, is it a new site?
The surge could be Google's crawlers, which explains the traffic drop.
Cloudflare is not related, but you should use it for sure, I use it for all my domains.

Feel free to email me or send your Skype, I'll try to help

If your rankings went down at the same time when the algorithm change happened, 99% sure it's not related to Cloudflare.

Using Cloudflare shouldn't be an issue. I have a site using Cloudflare which increased in traffic with this update.

Google doesn't care what domains or hosting providers you use. Just make sure there are no technical issues, check your Google Search Console.

This update is HUGE.

askjoe 05-11-2020 10:28 AM

This update is shit.
I search for live sexcam and get live webcam stations from all over the world.
All 10 positions not related to sexcam.

Lost 40% of traffic on nearly all sites.Only 2 shitty sites ranks well.
My sites has tons more quality backlinks , user bookmark my sites and revisits daily.
Somehow google decided to rank shitty websites before mine.
Iīm sure G donīt know what they are doing there.

That's what I was mentioning early in this thread. If you differentiate your spacing between keywords or brands you get non-adult results mixed in. I can't believe how bad this update has been.

Yes, indeed. It certainly feels like that. It's strange because, with the flux going on, it still looks like the updates are in progress. As disheartening updates like these are we still push forward and make our properties better. We are grateful for the member retention the sites in our industry offer to get us through the tougher times. Regardless of this update, my 5-year outlook doesn't change. It certainly has set us back months in terms of traffic volume at the moment. I want to believe this will be fixed or we'll adapt.

you lost a ton of traffic so "this update is shit" and "G don't know what they're doing"

my traffic is way up so "this update is great" and "G finally got their shit together"

porn queries returning mainstream results has been going on for years. Google explicitly wants to make sure mainstream queries never return porn results, and they're willing to let porn queries return mainstream results in order to achieve that. It's a business decision. It doesn't mean they don't have their shit together.

The "shitty" sites ranking above yours could be better than yours for any number of reasons. You're biased, everyone thinks their own site is the best. It's probably not.

Yes true, and I hope webmasters are doing these test searches using VPNs. Otherwise G is just serving you what looks best to YOU, not "the world".

Still, this one is a massive shakeup but I am hopeful that within a week or two things will normalize again.

You're largely right, but there's quite a few very obvious porn queries that were returning completely garbage results. Even Pornhub and xVideos were on page 2 or 3 for porn star name searches I was testing Sunday. However, it looks today those same queries are going back to "normal" (Kendra Lust was one that I searched, and PH was #17 Sunday from many devices and geo-locations).

3xmedia 05-12-2020 02:32 AM

"erotic videos" - mainstream
"eroticvideos" - adult

makes sence...

Who searches for "live sexcam" anyway?

Anyway when I search for it now the interesting thing to me is what words in the snippets are bolded.

I guess they are right too!

jamezon 05-13-2020 01:27 AM

someone got ideas what they did focus on during this update ?

Klen 05-13-2020 01:34 AM

Interesting, just noticed how porn.com is back on top 10 for keyword porn. Last time i checked they were nowhere to be found on it. So it seems now is better to run scrapper tube then regular tube lol

yeah and you'll notice that some of the sites from the iwank network (which had previously been de-indexed) are back and ranking highly

i don't think its specifically that CJ/aggregator tubes got a boost (SERPs have always been mostly big tubes + aggregators), but that older CJ/aggregator tubes (like mine, or iwank.tv) that had previously received a penalty, have had this penalty lifted and are now ranking. 2 weeks ago, the CJ/aggregator tubes that were ranking, were mostly new (ie, new enough that they haven't received a penalty for the shady tactics that basically all CJ/aggregator tubes use)

Personally I think the takeaway here is that google has relaxed their focus on spam/backlinks a bit, and moved their focus more to user engagement metrics. I think they were trying so hard to prevent SEO from being effective that it negatively affected their user experience metrics, so they said "fuck it, relax the spam penalties and let the site with the best bounce rate win."

the takeaway here for me isn't "go spam the shit out of all your sites" but rather "if you have a good site with good user engagement metrics spam will hurt less than it used to and it might even help"

So, in other words, go spam the shit out of all your sites ASAP.

:thumbsup

ZENRA 05-13-2020 12:41 PM

I don't recall which SEO blog it was, but one had an article written yesterday about the May update and noted that link lists and aggregator sites got a big boost in rankings. This was in relation to sites within the law industry, but may apply for adult as well.

Yep.But itīs only the first step of update. In see already some "fixes" as they always do
when they fail big.I remember another big fail 2012.They rolled a lot back to normal in
2-3 weeks. No one searching for adult will stay on a site that has 0,000 adult
content.Doesnīt make sense....

Stupid words.
Have seen since 2004 same story..They are fixing their own update for years when they
mess up.But they mess up this time big.

:1orglaugh

Itīs probably because of the nofollow crawling they put online on march and has to be
included in this update.
https://www.searchenginejournal.com/...update/349994/

3 years my projects were running and skyrocketing on all metrics.
Since this pandemic even more. Comparing analytics from my shitty sites ranking now
good, metric has 0,000 todo with this update.Metrics has always been important.
