The reason for leaving was a lot due to the way the industry has become fixated on traffic, webmastering, etc. It seems to ignorethe one fundemental that puts cash in everyone's pockets.

Don't waste your energy on it anymore. You have better things to spend your remaining days on. I know you care immensely about the industry, but there's nothing you can do to change the downward spiral.
