MicroStrategy CEO put half cash reserves into Bitcoin ($450million), didnt want to see his balance sheet "melt away"

Good video - did not expect that. I dont agree with most of his view on Bitcoin, but interesting perspective on investment for sure.

jscott 09-21-2020 01:45 AM

Ya man, interesting for Bitcoiners & even webmasters/domainers, this same guy owned Voice.com, Michael, Emma, Mike, Angel, Strategy.com's and tons more, his sell of Voice by a crypto company is what led him into crypto.

He also changed his views on Bitcoin, back in '13 tweeting "Bitcoin days are numbered". Now he's 50% with MicroStrategy's cash reserves into BTC. (btw, around 51:20 is when he starts his Bitcoin ideology)

Wondering if Twitter/Square will allow Jack to do the same :Graucho

Today, @Square announced that it has purchased $50M in bitcoin. Square believes cryptocurrency is an instrument of economic empowerment and provides a way to participate in a global monetary system, which aligns with the company’s purpose. For more, visit Investor Relations

It's Bitcoin on ETH, used for Defi (i think?). I find it useless. I think it's similar to wrapping Bitcoin or ETH for playing casino on decentralized exchanges

Can you buy and sell it like bitcoin? That stuff is gaining its momentum.

Good choice! Nobody knows how long it'll take, probably (i feel definitely) will reach there ATH after months or years.

Btw, another big announcement today:
"Stone Ridge Reveals $115 Million Bitcoin Investment As Part Of Billion-Dollar Spin-Off"
https://www.forbes.com/sites/michael...llar-spin-off/

last month Microstrategy, last week Square, today Stone Ridge, should continue to grow :thumbsup

Yup, no point in ever cashing those back into fiat if fiat is going to zero.

What good is $20,000 USD when people are going to the store with wheelbarrows full of trillion dollar bills? (see hyperinflation lol)

Exactly. And we have gov officials against citizens protecting themselves.

Have you heard of Brad Sherman?

What you think will be at the end of 2020? 20k?

Pink24 10-24-2020 02:56 PM

I have just one bitcoin. Lots of other crypto. Interested to see what will happen in the next couple of months. I can sure see a new ATH.

Whatever happens, I won't be selling though - not till 2027.

ruff 10-24-2020 07:28 PM

Big money keeps legitimizing BTC. It is still a buy opportunity for those who want to make bank in the future. It's always going to be the crypto standard. Just look at the price of BTC exactly one year ago.

Anytime in the next two years is a good time to buy. Use dollar-cost averaging. I've been buying since 2014 no matter the price. Buy and hodl.
I need a lot of money, you think it's cheap to maintain beautiful hair like this?

Haven't been doing it for nearly as long as you, but I've gone from short term mining and dumping alts to longer term buying and hodling BTC. Every couple of weeks I transfer 10% of my gross (fiat) income to an exchange, then adjust the automated daily buy amount so that the balance covers the next 2 weeks.

I am very excited for the coming months. This kind of reminds me of 2017. Anyone want to predict a DEC 23rd Price??

I will go bullish and say $30k

I agree with ruff, BTC best for long term hold. ETH is a different crypto built for different things, definitely not a store of value, but a speculative asset.

ETH has no max supply and the premine was almost completely scammy (70% ish)

It does have a huge community, most of who attack Bitcoin at every chance. It does have some nice volatility around BTC from 0.017 to 0.039 range, can make easy Bitcoin usually, with patience :thumbsup

You don't buy a flat without paying the taxman.
