How much is rent there in city center for an American? Would you be treated ok or poorly?

serbia is the least racist country in the world and everybody is really nice...nobody cares where you are from, foreigners are welcome here and everybody is happy to see them...it is extremely safe here, there are 0 unsafe places...a lot of people speak english...the police is super friendly...will not shoot :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

as for cost of living, you can get by on 500$ or on 2000$ it depends on your lifestyle...it depends on how high your standard is...shit will never get better here so the prices will always remain low...nice...

Yea, weren't you living on your private island in some shithole island country?
Oh yea, that's right, that imaginary money couldn't buy real estate so it was left in your imagination.

Now you have, again, imagined you are actually building something.

Haha, yea, you went from imaginary island vilas to justifying to yourself living in a shithole is actually 1st world location with 1st world living standards.
Yea, let me see if there's some bridges on sale there also. I hear that sells like hot cakes.

south america is a great place as well...you should do zig zag...a few years south america, a few years asia and back...zig zag...

That is what i am doing the last years, few years in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and other parts. And than back to Europe for a month and travel further to Asia for some months/years :)

Cause corona madness i will travel from Europe to Mexico next month. Brazil is really cheap now after the BRL crashed while it was going down already for years. Building is much easier in those lands, no need for a complete heating system. And just use some light weight stones. In Holland everything is triple isolated :)

You're again building stuff in your imagination.

Other then that, land is pretty cheap in zimbabwe, maybe you could afford something there, and still manage to live in the middle of shithole nowhere thinking "you made it".

the ICF takes 12cm reinforced concrete...1m3 concrete, high price, is 60 euros...this means for 1m2 I need approx 8 euros :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

the steel crap that goes in this is 70cents per kilo "lose" or 80cents per kilo "tied"...

I am too lazy to work out how much the pool will actually cost...I will laugh at any price they give me and have the cash in my pocket at any given time...

Depending on how you want to build it, a 100m2 pool still need a concrete floot, so lets say you go easy and only want 15cm walls, you are at 15 m3 of concrete = 60 * 15 = €900 alone for the concrete.

For steel, you need 500-700kg for the floor alone = uppps the €500 I told you
8 mm dimensions in sections of 2350x5000 mm 150x150 mm masks, is 62.5 kg each

And then comes the ICF.. those are NOT cheap

Then comes the painting or surface treatment

and are you and your slav army gonna dig the hole by hand to keep cost down?

What about around the pool? gonna just let gras or gravel fall into your pool?

Den BongaCash 09-24-2020 01:40 AM

Spain sounds good for me or some Switzerland village with mountains.

I said the ICF is like 3000$ for 100m2 walls for a house...a pool is not as deep as a house...the ICF takes 12cm concrete not 15cm...they build pools with it no problem...a digger is 2$/m3...too lazy to work out how much for the pool...around the pool is polished concrete thing...dirt cheap...too lazy to work it out...it is pennies...too lazy to even remember what they told me LOL...

feel the power of the 3rd world!...I watch "Grand designs" on youtube and laugh...it is so absurdly expensive to build in the west...

Low rider. It’s a hydraulic lift wired wit a remote. Easy up and down. It’s a sweet set up.

Lived in Spain for 24 years, lived all over it.

Not as cheap as it used to be, but the smaller cities are great, if you've got an income and don't need to find a job there. Cadiz, Almeria, Cartagena all good choices.

I've left France in 2005 for 3 years in Belgium.
And since 2008 I'm living in Bulgaria.
Awesome country and people, fantastic region of the world, all countries around Bulgaria are worth visiting and re-visiting: Greece, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, Cyprus... just to name a few.
It's beautiful, affordable, well located and connected to the world.
And we're there to stay apparently ;)

That would be cool - any early figures on cost or bandwidth?

What's the catch with these? Could a typical "I Love Istanbul but I've never been anything but a tourist" type do ok buying one of these? Very low price - suspicious - they also don't seem to exist yet so you're buying a project that may never happen? What's the catch?

why buy?...you can rent cheap in turkey...200-300$/month will get you a nice 1-2 bedroom by the sea...

I noticed that - low rent to value in Turkey. But I don't rent unless it is for vacation. You can get a 90 day automatically as an American but after that it becomes inconvenient. With owning, you can almost assuredly get a 1-5 year that you don't actually have to use.

a fantastic bar in a town called Union, north of Cartagena, just around near La Manga, you can pay just a few € for 2 people to eat and drink! There´s many tapas restaurants and bars still in land, heading to Murcia where the cost of a drink and some paella is just a few €!

We went to Cartagena for new years day, was amazing day out, just relaxing around the boats and down into the town :2 cents:

How big a handicap is it to live there if you don't speak Spanish? Can you get by or do you need to learn some basic language skills first? I'm American and we have only ever been taught one language. I took Spanish in high school, but it was a waste of time. There wasn't a Spaniard within a thousand miles to practice with.
