What's the catch with these? Could a typical "I Love Istanbul but I've never been anything but a tourist" type do ok buying one of these? Very low price - suspicious - they also don't seem to exist yet so you're buying a project that may never happen? What's the catch?

why buy?...you can rent cheap in turkey...200-300$/month will get you a nice 1-2 bedroom by the sea...

I noticed that - low rent to value in Turkey. But I don't rent unless it is for vacation. You can get a 90 day automatically as an American but after that it becomes inconvenient. With owning, you can almost assuredly get a 1-5 year that you don't actually have to use.

a fantastic bar in a town called Union, north of Cartagena, just around near La Manga, you can pay just a few € for 2 people to eat and drink! There´s many tapas restaurants and bars still in land, heading to Murcia where the cost of a drink and some paella is just a few €!

We went to Cartagena for new years day, was amazing day out, just relaxing around the boats and down into the town :2 cents:

How big a handicap is it to live there if you don't speak Spanish? Can you get by or do you need to learn some basic language skills first? I'm American and we have only ever been taught one language. I took Spanish in high school, but it was a waste of time. There wasn't a Spaniard within a thousand miles to practice with.
