Since we have hired a takedown company, they have removed our content from several hundred tubes and other pirate sites and Google delisted close to 200 tubes and other thieves ( and yes many Ruski ones also).

The upshot is ? Our business went up almost 50 %, because MOST of the " click and play" stolen content is gone and the other pirates are much harder to find :thumbsup

Did these sites rank for your brand and/or scene titles or something? Maybe even out rank you? If so, then that increase makes total sense. Either way, congrats. :thumbsup

Let me check with them after the weekend. I was apparently one of the few new " adult guinea pigs". I offered them some "plugs" here ( mind you that was a few months ago), they were NOT yet ready then. So, I will check again.... But historically I am battling pirates for years. I had a guy inside our company doing it ( until he went for bigger and better job), then I had a member here from Manila doing it manually ( until she went back to university and had to quit) and then company named MUSO ( good guys, but very expensive)... These current guys are most reasonable and very effective in comparison to all others. I am "on" with them since September.... I will of course let everybody know as soon as they are ready and allow me to ID them.:thumbsup

Not sure if I understand you exactly, but as an example....

Name of our site could be googled with a request for "free" or fucking "user uploaded" content. Of course our site does NOT have free content, so most of the pirates shown up instead. Many where phony ( looking for clicks and full of cul-de-sacs and other shit), but if the person was persistent enough, they found a "click and play" tube or some file sharing site.

Since we have a VOD site, so searching for a single title, with " free" prefix also caused that the title ( usually in the same sites) also shown up.

Now, if you search, in most cases you still get the same response, BUT once you get to the link, you will get 404 error, or "file not found" or "content removed due to copyright claim" etc... Also you get Google pages stating to go see Lumen since copyright claim was received and approved by Google. Some sites we also completely "killed", usually US based hosts.

It is too early for me to make an exact assessment, but majority of our easily searchable content is gone and only a few " Moldovan" or "Asian" sites full of crappy adds and viruses are left. I hope this good trend will continue.

Yes, that's pretty much what I meant. I assumed so.

It's a fantasy product that the customers enjoy and pay for. More customers are willing to pay for adult dating than adult content.

Let's just call it what it is. 9 out of 10 times adult dating is a scam where guys are 'tricked' into making charges by fake promises and fake profiles.

That's oke as people are responsible for their own actions (mostly) but let's not make it look nicer than it is ;)

I think you're missing a few big ones like Exoclick... and if we're talking about Adult business, don't forget DMM... yes it's an alien that's doing 99% of its business in Japan but DMM generates close to 2B$ every year.

If we're talking about "porn excluding Japan" we're somewhere between 2 and 3 billion dollars... then you can argue about including sex toys or not, dating or not... but however you see it, you'll never go above 5B$.

I often have to explain these calculations to noobs telling me "oh you're in the adultbiz? There's sooo muuuch money there!!!"
No no there's actually little money in our industry, any medium CRM SAAS generates a lot more money than the whole adult industry :pimp

What's interesting in our industry is that overall revenues are shared among a small community of professionals... meaning in other industries, you'd need a lot more people and expenses to generate 5B$

But that's also a major issue: if PH and other tubes were generating a lot more money, they'd probably have more influence when negociating with Visa and Mastercard. Right now despite being big in traffic, they're "small" in revenues :2 cents:

I am old enough to remember the old "ONE 900" numbers paid by a minute, where some old fat ugly hag was pretending to be 20 something Playboy bunny. They paid then, and I am sure they pay for bots today :1orglaugh
