Cases go up and down at will and it has nothing to do with restrictions. It appears that way in some cases, meaning sometimes the government will shut down an area and cases go down and people say, "Look, see! We shut down and cases went down."

But then they don't want to look at all of the other areas where government shut down and either nothing happened or cases even went up.

We don't have control over this but we like to pretend we do. It makes us feel better/safer and it also makes us feel accepted to have the same opinion as the dominant narrative - part of the group instead of being an outcast in other's eyes.

Probably after the majority get vaccinated and the people start taking it seriously and listen to science instead of fake reports found on tiktok and facebook.

Most of the people that I know and read about online get their science from top epidemiologists.

Most of the people that take on your view of this pandemic (pro lockdown/masks) get their science from government doctors (aka politicians).

I would say you are emotionally involved rather than thinking factually.

I would definitely like to be travelling again soon.

The people who are against mask wearing cannot really say they don't work because they, as a group, never bought into wearing them and therefore kept the virus alive and kicking.

Now if all the anti-maskers had worn masks, stayed inside/away from other people, for say two months straight and STILL we had outbreaks, upticks, second waves etc then I would agree wearing masks are useless. But unless EVERYONE wears them, together, for a concentrated period of time, it's ultimately useless.
