First day? No. Ask him what time it is and what time he’s supposed to start.

If by the end of the week the behavior continues? Yes.

He didn’t earn his keep to cut him latitude. If he kicks ass 6 months down the road? You’ll bend a bit. Loosen the reigns but never let go.
