To give a lot of people a feeling to be a part of this fiction world to enjoy it in the same way like we who just born with white skin - just missing of pigments. It don't hurt you and me in any way and may can help others to identify with characters. I feel bad when I imagine a black kid that loves fantasy have to feel to be not a part, just cause it's black.

I understand the need for diversity in modern pieces - it's part of the world now - but black people were never a major part of medieval europe and I don't see what the point is in pretending otherwise.

Our parents, and our parents parents (possibly) complained about similar stuff when things were adapting for a newer generation. Like all living things, we adapt to our environment and the things around us.
