we're homeschooling and covered history of classical Greece a few weeks ago. The Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta started from very similar circumstances. Athens was spreading democracy and created a large alliance of other states. Sparta was pissed about the alliance because it threatened their sovereignty and political system (military junta). the war raged for 27 years and devastated Greece.

I am against racism, I do not share races in principle. And I am against violence, any.

But we had a wave of crimes on the part of the Arabs - murders, in peacetime. Therefore, people are embittered, and many do not understand at all - who is where, in a situation of panic and chaos.

While some of these men are students, specifically the Nigerians, for every one student there are probably 20 economic migrants that entered Ukraine after the war started and are using this as a way to get into EU. Many have passports stamped for Feb 27th/28th. They are not "evacuating Ukraine", they entered an active war zone in order to enter EU because Poland is forced to let them in. 500k people entered Poland in the last week via this border. There are huge lines and it's a giant clusterfuck. There at last report was a 40km line of cars at one of the crossings. I have heard that it is now 80km.

Men aged 18-60 are not allowed to leave UA. They are evacuating children and women. Every one of these men bravely took up the place of a child for evacuation, then took up a bed and other resources that were gathered in every community in Poland to help the people leaving.

African women and children, you say? African women standing in the cold with their babies? There's tens of thousands of Ukrainian women standing at the border, cold, with their children as well. Some are traveling for days to get to the border. We know this first hand from friends.

Why don't you post the video of all those people trying to force the border? Or the video of the arabic man threatening people with a knife to get himself and his people on a train car? They occupied an entire train car by force.

Despite all of this, these people were allowed to cross. They're just butthurt that they had to wait like everyone else.

The mobilization here is crazy, from my village of 2500 or so people there's been at least 5 or 6 different collections organized that went to the border. Several of those big courier vans full of food, diapers, cloths, blankets, bandages etc. It's the same thing in pretty much every community here. We know several people that even took families into their own homes here or rented out flats for them. Not entire families because the men weren't allowed to leave so usually a woman and 1-2 kids in most cases.

I just hope that the other Slavic countries won't forget that they are in fact Slavs, and even if it seems that there is an unprecedented amount of hatred towards anyone who is Russian at the moment -- even if they oppose Putin's views and war in general. I'd like to think that this lunacy won't continue for much longer, and that we will be able to focus on the "why" and accordingly punish those responsible.

I don't know what happened, but I do in fact believe, with all my heart, even though I'm not a conspiracy theorist, that someone, somehow -- managed to turn and divide, like you said: one nation into sworn enemies.

I've worked with both Russian and Ukrainian people my whole life, and I hold nothing but love for both, and I believe that up until before 2014, I've never seen any type of anti-Russian sentiment from my Ukrainian friends.

It hurts, and it's horrifying to even think that this is happening right now, especially because of the mocking towards the dead (even if they're enemies, everyone should be treated with the utmost respect, if you have to kill to defend yourself, then you do so -- with pride, but do not mock or call for others to take human lives) and wishing on them to get killed in agonizing ways, and punishing the innocent Russian civilians just because they hold the Russian passport, and because of the name that they bear.

Unfortunately, there is not much that the Russian people can do here, and I say that with the utmost respect towards the Ukrainian people as a whole. But we all have to live, and we all have to make sure that our families are safe. We won't do a lot for the humanity as a whole if we only put our family first, but it's the only family we've got, and unfortunately... the game is rigged. We can only hope that those in charge will grow a little bit of a conscience and say something. Do something.

But the civilians, in countries like Russia simply cannot do anything to prevent their governments from doing whatever they want. It is childish and naive to believe otherwise. It is good to teach our children to be the change that they want to see in the world, but in order to survive in this world, we can't be so naive to believe that we can oppose a strict government and bear no consequences ourselves, or to our families.

I pray for both the Ukrainian and Russian people tonight.

There are no winners or losers here. The moment people started losing their lives, all hope was lost for a better tomorrow because of the growing hatred and animosity. I truly hope with all my heart that they will realize that no one can win or lose this. People's lives are at stake here. Buildings are irrelevant. We can't revive all those lost lives, and even if you make the enemy leave. You accomplished nothing if you helped breed more hate.

I was at the border for a few days and they let any person with legal documents go through, black or not .

The only difference was on Polish side. While Ukrainians had various options for continuing their travel and are allowed to travel to any EU country, foreign exchange students had only one option available. Travel to Warsaw to seek help with their country embassy because their entry visa only allow to travel inside Poland for 1 month.

Personally I think it was the correct way since most Foreign Exchange students are from countries where there is no War.

The complains started here because they also want accommodation and refugee status like they do to Ukrainians. The difference is Ukrainians have no way to go and they have their own countries to fly to without any problems.

Do not believe 100% what media tells you. Is there racism yes there is but are isolated cases.
