Bitcoin risks worst August since 2015 as hodlers brace for 'Septembear'
https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitco...for-septembear BItcoin (BTC) is on track to see its worst August performance since the 2015 bear market — and next month may be even worse. Data from on-chain analytics resource Coinglass shows that BTC/USD has not had an August this bad for seven years. After two major BTC price comedowns in recent weeks, Bitcoin hodlers are understandably fearful — but historically, September has delivered even worse performance than August. At $20,000, BTC/USD is down 14% this month, making this August the biggest loser since 2015, when the pair posted an 18.67% red monthly candle. Subsequent years have proven that August can be a mixed bag when it comes to BTC price performance — in 2017, for example, the largest cryptocurrency gained over 65% in a bullish record. One month which has left no one guessing when it comes to probable price direction, however, is September. Already famous as a "red" month for Bitcoin, average losses since Coinglass records began in 2013 have been almost 6%. |

Thanks for the reminder, buying low always better than buying high, especially with a scarce asset like Bitcoin :winkwink:

If I bought at $200/$3000, then I'd be great. How does buying at 19k make sense now? I need 3 times the investment to make real money, so waiting for it to go back to $60k seems unrealistic right now. :2 cents: |

It is only when you fully understand an asset that you should invest in it. The other thing is Bitcoin is a high risk asset, and should probably only be a small proportion of your overall asset portfolio. The days of getting rich just by buying Bitcoin are probably over, because you are no longer early to the party. |

FTX & the Sam Bankman-fried fiasco is what's fucking up the markets. Always the altcoins, ponzi's, unregistered securities that rekt the markets. Greed and centralization are human error, this has been the problem with 3AC, Luna, Celsius, Quadriga, Mtgox, and now FTT/FTX. Not sure how or why people never seem to learn. Buy Bitcoin, withdraw to cold storage and HODL, all is well or will be well (on the long term) :winkwink: |
