ITV a few years ago purchased friendreunited and made it worth next to nothing.

The world is full of rich businesses who have zero idea what they are doing.

The crazy thing is, frendsreunited was sort of before Facebook, and could have been bigger than facebook. But they had the bright idea to charge people to join (it had been free). At the same time facebook was starting to get big and was free.

I don't own xyz but follow the domain market. As you will see from previous sales history. If you owned white dot xyz you would ask for more. I wouldn't wan't an xyz adult name.

Domain market is greatly ovetaken by various forms of money laundering schemes, don't believe those numbers where some shitty .xyz or other domains were sold for tens of thousands.

There is a reason why those are not private sales, but happened on marketplace sites and sales get reported to the public.

Purpose of those reports is purely to verify that domain was sold, but you can't verify identities of seller and buyer since in the most cases it's the same person behind the sale.

The most I've sold a domain for I think was high 3 figures.
The only domains that I can think of that can be valuable are l.com, ll.com, lll.com. Or #.com, ##.com or ###.com, but doesn't have the number 4 in it, 8s are best, can be sold to Chinese people. That's all I can think of.

For big companies, this could stand to be a great tax break asset, while knowing it would be making a loss, the tax relief could stand to make it profitable & to be one of the owners of the site, must be great for any company :thumbsup
