hetzner is a good host for vps, its much cheaper for the cpus/mem compared do linode/DO/aws

I decided to go with KVS in the end. But as feared/predicted I already ran into technical issues regarding uploading files, and it seems that KVS support is ran by a single guy.

For prototyping Wordpress is unbeatable.

I have used two of the CMS mentioned above, Elevated X and Mechbunny.

At the time we used it Elevated X was problematic as the license was only for a single machine, so there were issues with migrating existing sites from different servers. If you were starting fresh it would be suitable. Is it expensive? Not in itself but templating can be an issue.

Mechbunny is the CMS I want to use, but there is no off the shelf paysite template available that I could find. And the guy who I had lined up stopped supporting it. So the cost of templating can be an issue. If Mechbunny had a general paysite template it would rule this discussion.

So when I have an idea in the middle of the night I am constructing a responsive front end tour and a backend Wordpress members area. Easily done in a day.

PornCMS was built for paysites. it includes a plug-and-play paysite template and includes free billing installation. you just need a biller.

this template below came from Zuzana and we installed it over a weekend. very easy. the client is moving several sites from another cms.

You are going to compete with companies which have been doing this for 15 years, some of them have MILLIONS of videos and THOUSANDS of servers, setting up the correct technical architecture took them several years, etc etc
these are big big big businesses and I would not start a tube in 2023 unless I have a big chunk of money to get things started properly and professionaly

You can feed yourself with a smaller spoon too, man. You dont need to be the biggest, you can make a very comfortable income with a small tube still.

the "be #1 or don't do it" mentality isn't relevant in porn. there's too many niches and fetishes - and not enough good webmasters.

we've all seen some tiny niche with a simple landing page blow up. i have a client making a killing on diaper videos.

15-25 years in the industry is not required. you just need good ideas and figure out how to implement them.

ive done dev work for so many customers using your platform, although i dont need support since i manage my own servers, everytime they need to contact support to get a db backup or a ssh account or ftp account made, its quick, and you dont see that from a lot of other vps hosts, digitalocean it could be days and even a week for a reply from them.

i really have only 1 new wp site on it currently (5 months old), the other sites are just dev environments, its at about 750k uniques a month so far and its fast. no issues so far

Another interesting new feature I enabled last week is up to 4TB of NVMe storage in our VPS lineup. Originally, this was limited to 500GB then I changed it to 1TB, 2TB and now it's at 4TB. I'm trying to be a little more disruptive with our approach here. So much free bandwidth in addition to tremendous volume size capabilities really differentiates our VPS product from the whole spectrum of competitively available offers.

So, for example, someone could now develop a site going really narrow on CPU and RAM requirements but wide on storage. Conversely, could go very high on CPU and RAM and not have to pay for storage they don't want, which is very often the option people are otherwise left with.

These plans start at $29.99 and include 300 Megabit of unmetered bandwidth. In the coming months, all of the VPS plans will be changed to gigabit unmetered.
