GFY is still alive because it REFUSED to change
Sadly, when marketing forums change, they usually end up dying. DP changed, they are dead. WaFo changed, they are dead. WiFi changed, they are dead. BHW is still alive because the changes they deploy seek to enhance users' existing experience instead of a radically new model. |

i made about $3 an hour on that project. the thing you aren't seeing is gfy does not attract models. its not avn. there's 3 regular models here. it also does not attract fans. that's two uphill battles no one around here wants to fight for gfy. your entire business plan is based on the 3-letter domain. you keep bringing it up, but its just a domain. there's many failed 3-letter domains. a successful online biz takes a team working thousands of hours. you must think it will be a volunteer army? where's your investment? i'm not being negative, i'm being realistic. someone will have to build and manage this thing while you're staring out of a windshield all day. # |

one thing i'd enjoy is more video conferences. the ynot conference during rona was cool. most of us are working in the dark coding shit. its fun to see other webmasters and talk about webmaster shit. that's the audience here. its not models. # |

The current state of affairs where we have a president that's known by three letters, FJB , proves yes you can promote a three letter domain differently than just a domain. You're thinking in the box, throw out the box. |

This isn't about the adult webmaster industry, this is about using two outrageous domains for more than a redirect. Let's say we got gofuckyourself clothing line running and got a couple rappers to wear them in a video. How many people would want GFY swag. Then instead of just using GFY.com as a redirect, put it to work and develop social media for adults only, an onlyfans style plugin so models have a direct line to clients. Make it so they have to spend $1 on a credit card to join to keep all the Karen's from complaining and then we can track users. If they misbehave, they can be effectively banned. Yes they can do that. I could go on and on about it, but letting those great domains sit as a redirect is a waste. |

I was doing well up until the mid 2010's... then when my kid was born and I quit doing cocaine, I found it hard to want to sell porn! I swear, I lost the edge and interest in selling porn. Got it back now after the NIGHTMARE of fucking COVID in Canada... goddamn... I could never work for someone else anymore. At any time they could bring back the "vaccine pass" and I could be fired from my jobs, again. |

I remember that many members where summoned (I bet you as well) when the new GFY administration took over and nothing happened after that. |

That is interesting. What makes the margins so thin? Are the needed tasks challenging to find affordable outsource workers who can do them? |

If you start with branding a clothing line, jumping over to getting models would be easy due to the media buzz.
Could you imagine Ted Nugent , Kid Rock or Tom Macdonald wearing a hoodie on stage? Or any number of celebrities that want partner up |

Man, people are so mean to you, but you are 100% right. GFY could be a massive brand. Especially in 2023 where more and more people are like "I don't give a fuuuuuuuuck!" |

the models have to stay engaged and adding content. verification is pretty easy these days. its the onboarding and continuous engagement that takes daily work. your average outsourced 3rd worlder can't do that work. they can barely do Amazon returns. model engagement is in addition to daily traffic work. that part can be outsourced if it doesn't take too much brainwork. then you trade time for cost, which increases daily. OF has many issues, but traffic and engagement aren't on the list. we're out of the sandbox now with fan sites, which means it takes a decent size team and budget to pull it off. small biz in this industry always has to be looking at the next thing. get in early before the behemoths buy or destroy the market. then get out. # |
Thinking starting a clothing line with the words "Go Fuck Yourself" is a great business idea, and putting so much value on a 3 letter domain is peak stupidity.
Not trying to be mean, but maybe you should listen to that guy who tried explaining to you how dumb of an idea it is. He had more patience trying to get through to you than most people would have. 1. Who is your target demographic, if they want to wear clothing that says "Go Fuck Yourself" on it? Edgy 13 year old kids, and people who live in trailer parks. Not exactly people who will be spending a lot of money. 2. Turn GFY into onlyfans? I don't think I've heard a dumber idea on this forum, and that's really saying a lot. 3. Having a 3 letter domain and an idea is not easy street to money. Everyone has a million ideas. Ideas are worth exactly ZERO. It's all about execution. You can become a millionaire today starting a business like cleaning if you can execute properly. Not everything has to be a novel tech idea. I don't even know why I'm writing this. It's such a stupid idea it doesn't even warrant an explanation about why it's stupid. |
when you attend a show, shoot house, or any industry gathering with younger crowd OF generation etc, you realize how much of a dinosaur paysite owner/operators are. and if youre from the era of DVDs and buying DV tapes to film these new cats think youre like moses. then you realize these lil jits have such a shaky business model its scary, theyre totally co dependent on other no name amateurs in their category and have no star power or following outside of fan/social platorms. we're old i get that, but at least 90s adult folks see whtas going down

And yeah, they're mean to me, but I know in person they wouldn't have the balls to say what they will say here and it's better to just accept that. Mind over matter, I don't mind because they don't matter. |

If 3 letter domains and easily brandable names were a huge key to success, Sex.com, porn.com, etc etc would be huge success stories. Yet none of them are? Is it because of “lack of vision” or “imagination”? No. Ifs because pulling off a successful brand or social media site is way fucking harder than just having a good name and having a few rappers promote you. |
This is the meme version of the proposed business plan:
