This fact alone will keep Ibill solvent until at least the end of this decade - they have a virtual monopoly on that business, and my guess is the chargebacks are lower too.

Actually, we sell products and memberships through Netbilling. THier system kicks Ibills ass in features and flexibility and the company actually cares about their clients. They also charge alot less than IBill.

They flat ass lied and told me that wires had been sent and never did.
If shit like that isn't enough for a bad rep, then what is.

We stopped processing with IBill back in July of last year when the whole worldcom thing hit the fan. However, that isn't what made me lose confidence in them, rather it was how they handled the whole fiasco. We noticed we didn't receive our wire and had to contact them to find out why. No post to their website explaining the problem, no e-mail to their sponsored merchants, no effort to let people know they were not going to get paid, yet they continued to process the 1900 transactions allowing access to users all the while knowing we weren't going to get paid for those transactions. We were told this would all be cleared up by November of last year and we would be paid, as I am sure many of you were told....yet here it is June and still we haven't received our money, 1/3 of which IBill declares on our statement that they have collected on.

z,

Thanks for the plug. We do process for thousands of product web sites, both mainstrewam and adult . We offer a free shopping cart system as well.

The main concern about Ibill IMHO is that you can never really be sure what is going wrong. The biggest problem I had faced with them was the November 2001 issue where a lot of users and rebills just disappeared from the CMI. I use a pincode system, and from time to time I still find users who signed up before November 2001 in my logs who are no where to be found in the CMI.

Another sweet issue was that last year they changed the way their system is polled externally to determine if users are expired without telling anyone. I am still tracking expired acounts down from that one.

At this point I have used pretty well every processor there has been...And despite some serious gaffes I can still recommend Ibill in comparison to other billers. Ibill can do better, but they generally don't have any fundamental bad surprises that we see on a weekly basis these days.

One criticism I have of the billing industry in general these days is there is no consistancy of product. Some scrub too hard, some not enough. Because of this it becomes nearly impossible to depend on only a single processor, and this makes it impossible to use any single processor's affiliate programs. These days you have to have MPA2 or the like, and multiple processors.

As well I am finding a few sites that use certain asian processors to have an outrageous competitive advantage over us, their scrub seems to be considerably more generous and they are stealing affiliates.

why the hell not? visa doesn't want to give up all the chargeback fees they're bringing in from us?

It is always best to not keep all your eggs in one basket... You are absolutely right about that :)
