I dont think I would have to worry about my gf gaining weight, she swims and runs almost everyday.

No more moody times of the month would sure be fucking nice too!

oh those moods are still there.. hormones do not go on hold cause the period does...i hated the depo (got preggo on just about every form of birthcontrol) and just went for the tubal ligation after the last one.

just being nice and understanding during that time is sooooooo cooool for your partner.

now nb, was that you that was having GF probs last week and the same time the month before...lol..didnt i tell you it was her PMS kicking in.

Look into it, Depo kicks ass.
The only side effect it had on my g/f is she lubes a little less. She had more side-effects from the pill. Having said that, my girl has had no kids, is active, eats well, gets yearly physicals and is in good physical condition. She has been 105 lbs for most of her life, maybe she doesn't have a fat gene. :2 cents: No mood or hormonal problems....she has no side effects.
We know people on it who have had no side effects, etiher.
I don't know how much the shot costs, but my g/f gets it in a butt cheek every 3 months I think it is.

Tubal ligation - I assume that is the same as having your 'tubes tied'. I'm seriously considering this option. We have one beautiful child and no desire to have any more and I don't wanna be on the pill forever. However, I've been fairly happy on the pill, practically no period or PMS, free here in the UK, quick and painless (as long as I remember it).

I'm just wondering what the side affects of being sterilised are? Are there any at all?

Just trying to get some first hand info rather than just taking what my doctor tells me.

Actually, no, we never have problems... This is really weird too, I mean we NEVER fight or argue... Ok, at least not serious anyway....

You would think after 7 years with me... she would be ready to kill me. I can be very difficult sometimes. In otherwords... a real prick.

Just kidding, we have a real good relationship... I should marry her... naaaaa.

of course there are a few side effects
....one being a decrease in the sex drive (booze helps me out with that one), and sometimes a weight gain, and my periods are stronger and pms worse. But not having to worry about getting sick on birthcontrol and getting prego was a big relief to me.. the queen of fertility.

If you are happy taking the pill and it has no ill effects i say stay with it. I am just glad to not be pregnant..ever again

My favorite was the Norplant. The shove a couple matchstick looking things in your arm and you don't have to worry about a thing for 5 years. But when you want to have a baby you usually have to try for at least a year after getting it taken out. Then again, I got pregnant two days after.. lol

Depo : makes you gain weight for sure. And doesnt stop moodiness just stops the lining of uterus from shedding (menstruation) monthly.
Even a girl with no uterus ( hystorectomy) still has cramping and moodness once month.

and for having sex during that time take 3 advil shower douche bleeding usually is gone for atleast 30. minutes..
