That XLR looks so tight. I think the factthat it's priced at 80k+ works against it cause it will be competing with Mercedez and some of the higher priced sports cars...

I would get a 2003 Mercury Marauder with the performance package ($16k) that puts it at 460HP :)

yeah and at the end of the lease you have some nice memories and nothing else to show for your money... anyway if you want something fast get a corvette z06... best bang for the buck at that price level... if you want a fast vert with some luxury the benz slk32 amg is nice

Mr Pheer 06-11-2003 04:54 PM

Buy a kit car
build it yourself
have something truely unique with high performance and the satisfaction that you built it yourself

or...

get a fully loaded Subaru WRX and pocket $15k

I've had alot of over $50k cars, I generaly get bored with them in 6 or 9 months

Just sold my H2 and bought a toyota spyder, sure is fun to drive... but i'm the kind of guy that really doesnt give a fuck what others think

I'm thinking about ordering a lotus elise next since they are starting to import them to the USA

Joe Sixpack 06-11-2003 09:50 PM

US$50,000 would allow me to backpack around the world for about a year and a half.

So I'd do that instead.

Details? Please?!?

Drove a Mk1 Elise a few years ago - by far the most fun car I've ever driven (I actually preferred it to a Ferrari 355!).

Its like a dream come true... I fell in love with this car the very first time I saw one... And then Gran Turismo 3 teased me... but at least I could drive it there... now its coming here

The difference between what you paid for the lease and what you pay in depreciation when you sell is not very big, and some would rather not leave all that money invested in a car, I don't blame them.

Does anyone here invest their money into other profitable ventures or is it all living hand-to-mouth bling blinging it up like it was 1998?

If you dont like small, high performance 2 seaters, then yeah I guess you could say that. I doubt anybody would really listen though.

You throw your money away no matter what....

If your going to spend that kind of cake on a car why would you care.....

Buy a turbo diesel VW bug and pocket the change. Take a vacation,
Save for your kids college, or retirement.

Undutchable 06-12-2003 04:24 AM

Viper all the way man. Buy a second hand viper in case a new one is too expensive.. There's just not much better than that car

Paul Markham 06-12-2003 04:25 AM

Probably one of these.

http://www.classic-car.cz/galerie/cerveny2.jpg

Problem is when it comes to cars I can't spend money on them.

They are for getting from A to B in reasonable comfort and no more. When we were looking for a new car I was thinking about a Merc or Audi, just did not think a car was worth that money.

yeah, I absolutly love Viper's...I hate the new look, I think the old models before 2003 look so much better. The new ones look like a Hyundai. It lost the edge it had as far as looks.
